Ok, so he got burn because Foster, Pollard, and JO were out. But how does the kid look out there? I'm intrigued enough that he's my pick for 15th man. We've got 4 PGs already (counting Freddy) and plenty of juice at SG and SF. Might as well take on a prospect at C.

In another thread, someone called Edwards "average at best." That may be, but "average" is good enough to make the team in my mind. He's an undrafted free agent... cheap insurance on the front line. Worst case, he's somebody our guys can bang against.

I guess my thinking is that if he's 7' tall, beefy, and not a complete stiff, then he's a legitimate 15th man. It's not like he's expensive. And his line tonight looked better than Croshere's.

Who saw the game? How'd he look?

Jamaal hit him with a pass right in the hands. He fumbled it out of bounds. Right now, he can take Pollard's 0 minutes away. I don't know what to do with him.

I saw the game. I wasn't very impressed with how he played. If he gets a spot I'd bet he'll be taking Primoz's old spot at the end of the bench--in street clothes.

So what? Someone's gotta fill that role.

I saw him & thought he was awful.

He did have a sweet skyhook shot that went in but other than that I just saw another in the long line of 7' caucasion players that look stumbly & out of control.

So in other words I'm sure he will make the team. ;)

But if I were voting I'd rather keep Randy Holcomb.

This is a case where I'd take whoever does the best. We can always use a big man, but we aren't at the point where we are dying to get another one.

I saw him, in fact I saw too much of him. He just is not NBA caliber at this point in his life. I did have a Greg Dreiling flashback though with that number 54 jersey. That freaked me out. His game is nothing like Dreiling

That could be a GOOD thing.

Tinsley hit him right in the hands with a pass - it should have been a layup/ dunk.

Edwards fumbled the ball out of bounds.

He's got Pollard-quality hands. I don't see why the Pacers would keep him.

(I thought I posted this comment last night, but it seems to have disappeared. If you see it twice, sorry.)

Could be a good thing, except at least Dreiling was big and physical, Edwards looked rather soft to me.

Unless the Pacers have significant injuries with their centers, I don't see Edwards making the team, I see Holcomb being the 15th player kept if the Pacers keep 15, which I don't think they will anyway

I think he'll make a fine Vice President. Oh, I'm sorry, did someone mention basketball?

No they don't. I would not be the least bit surprised if we go into the season with only 14. It gives you flexibility for the future, like, for instance, signing a Timmy Hardaway.

That said, if forced to take someone, I agree on Holcomb. John Edwards was lousy. Lived up to his name, that way. :p

As stated earlier, leave the slot open. Then you can pick up a needed player later to fill an injury. Or take a second contract if a trade were to be made.

Besides, IIRC the org. let part of the office staff go in a cost savings move, so why keep some stiff around that you're paying big $$$$ to. Yes, min salary is still big $$$$ to me...and to the office staff that were let go.

After last night's game in Denver, I'd say they can't cut him quickly enough.

I don't think I've ever seen one player leave so many 2-3 foot shots SHORT in the same game. When he gets the ball in the low post, it's just unwatchable.
