What do they have in common you ask?

And for me... I'm fine with that being the basis for their comparison :D

And to reply to my own post, I can't deny I still cringe when I see that #15 jersey running into a pile at the end of a game near the scorers table with a sense of rage.

ugh.

George Hill seems like one of those guys you just want on your playoff roster for several reasons, one of them being his no ******** attitude when it comes to these "superstars."

We're building the kind of team that's going to give teams like Miami and Chicago fits because of our perimeter defense. If we get a star-level player who can complement Granger well, watch out. Between that, and forcing these so-called elite teams to beat us with their bigs, we could be giant killers someday.

George is a playoff guy no doubt. He played a gigantic role with the Spurs in 2010 with Parker being out.

He got the Spurs into the second round and was scoring 20+ points in a portion of the games.

He's a tough guy and not in a bad way at all. It's what Frank wants from his players. Paul, Tyler, and George are just a few of the young core who play with that smashmouth attitude.

I think Hill *and* George on Rose is going to be fun to watch... like a pack of hyenas on a wildebeest.

Really of our young core the only guy who worries me in that department is Roy Hibbert, and even with him I don't *expect* him to always wilt. I just think he's prone to doing it some of the time. That may change if he gets physically stronger because it will be harder to literally knock him off of his game (and I think if that happens, his confidence will leap forward).

But Roy aside, I like that mix I mentioned above very much when it comes to being willing to punch these pretty boy elites in the nose.

I think of all the players that have came through the Pacers after Reggie retired, Hill has the most similarities to Reggie.

You're comparing one of the most clutch playoff performers (whose 6'7 and a 5 time all star), a guy whose second all time in three pointers made, and not necessarily the best one on one defender to a 6'3 combo guard who can occasionally knock down a three and plays average defense?

George Hill is officially overrated on these forums.

Average defense doesn't sound honest.

Yes, comparing Hill to Reggie Miller shows we are between seasons. Kind of funny. However, Hill is the kind of player who will help you get wins in the playoffs. Not a Jason Terry level talent but a guy who can come in where you will not see a drop off. Very valuable guy to have particularly his intangibles. He really has no big weaknesses which is another plus.

I was wating for someone to make that assumption. I never said said Hill is or will be the player that Reggie was. Not :censored: comparing them either. I said of all the Pacers and former Pacers the past 6 years, Hill has the most similarities. You don't know if I meant they have one thing in common or 10 things in common. Be honest who has had the most similarities to Reggie?

Granger? James Jones? no....

No where did he compare them or say Hill comes close to Reggie. All he said is that Hill is the most similar to Reggie of players we have had since Reggie retired.

Honest question. What is similar? Yes, they are NBA players, both guards who had run ins with Kobe Bryant. Maybe they both defer a bit. What else?

I see a 6'2" combo guard from Indianapolis who can defend well versus a 6'7" future HOF SG from California who couldn't guard his own mother. One is known widely as a trash talker and the other appears pretty reserved and let his play do the talking.

What's similar!?! Six letters in Reggie, six in George! Two Gs, Two Es and an R in each! Part of Miller rhymes will Hill! Need I go on?

Georgie! Georgie! Georgie!

At IUPUI when George was a freshman, we took basketball class together... I remember trading some trash talk with him and getting in each others faces... And that is pretty much the end of the comparison between Kobe and I...

Dude is not gonna back down from anyone in the league...

Any way you want to put a play on your words, the only similarities I see are the obvious ones: They are both basketball players who were apart of the Indiana Pacers franchise.

As a player, I don't see any similarities really. That's like comparing night and day, even on a mental, excluding physical ability argument.

Hill's average defense is better than everyone else's on this team except for DJ and PG . He may not be 6'7, but he has enough spirit to be 7'0. It took Reggie 4 seasons to be the all-star he became. George Hill is going into his 4th season with us. ;) I'm pumped, and so should you.

I a DIE-HARD Reggie fan. But I also understand we are not comparing to Reggie, but pointing out Reggie qualities in Hill. Reggie didn't back down from any challenge or clutch shot, and I see George being the same way.

You're the one putting a play on his words dude. If George Hill has one single similarity of Reggies. Just one. And everyone else has zero he is, by default, the player with the most similarities since Reggie retired.

I'm not saying this is necessarily the case but it helps illustrate better the point he is making.

You make it sound like dude just said that G3 will break Reggie's Pacer records and be a 1st ballot HOF'er which no one even came close to alluding to. Settle down there pilgrim.

The only comparison I see is they both have "ill" in their last name. As in they both make the other team ill thinking about playing them.

This is HUGE for me. To me, this is why Dallas won this year. They had a group of players who didn't shy away from the bright lights.

That is a tough one because Jimmer has a good chance due to plying time. Scoring wise? Probably Jimmer overall? probably Hill
