I think I liked the older one better, but I'm just glad that I'm a Pacers fan so I don't have to worry about any New York Knicks mess OR Spike Lee. REGGIE, REGGIE!!! :D

WTF, this looks like somebody ****ed up the logo on a batch of screen printed T's and Dolan said WOOT! Knicks are such a joke of a franchise.

It looks like a money saving move. 2 color logos are cheaper to print than full color. I bet the light blue is a screen % of the darker blue.

I actually like the change. I've always been in favor of minor tweaks to things like uniforms and logos instead of teams just outright changing stuff up all the time. I liked how we added the Gray trim around our logo a few years ago, I liked the NFL's update of the Shield, and I like this. The old logo just screams "I was made in the 1990's" while the new one appears modern and yet still is familiar to the general fan.

Nice job by the NYK Marketing Department, or whoever it was that green-lighted the update.

If you have a old NYK t-shirt all you have to do is bleach it and it's new again.

Maybe they are trying to glow in the dark. New logo sucks.

Looks like they're reppin' the new, kinder, gentler Knicks. Wimps.

Honestly, if you had told me that the new logo was the Knicks' old logo, I probably would've believed you. I would've figured they had just gotten rid of that dark outline years ago.

Really?

It looks like a money saving move. 2 color logos are cheaper to print than full color. I bet the light blue is a screen % of the darker blue.

They changed the Pantone colors of the Blue, Orange, and Silver. The Silver is no longer a metallic (it's a flat Gray), the Orange is indeed lighter, and the Blue is darker.

The main issue (design-wise anyway) with the old set of marks, is that they used a light Blue for the logos, and a darker one for the uniforms. Now, the Blue in the logo matches up better with the existing fabric/textile Blue used in the uniforms.

The wordmarks (on the jerseys) will remain the same. There is a new secondary logo (along with the existing "subway token") secondary.

They really shook things up there, huh?

And they probably paid some design firm $100,000 to come up with that too.

So, are we to assume that somebody sitting at their desk with the skills of a computer literate teenager tweaked some colors and decided to simplify the logo on their lunch hour instead of playing WoW or updating their Facebook status? And then they approached Dolan and sold him on how fresh and up to date the new one is right after he reviewed the sales figures for Knicks logo merchandising which must have been disappointing to him?

Or, maybe Carmelo and Amare decided that the logo wasn't inspirational enough and that black is a depressing color :( and that the orange simply wasn't bright enough to put them "in the mood" to play basketball?

How pointless was this "update"? Outside of people who collect, who else would be more likely to buy any merchandise with this logo than the one that has been in place for years?

Did you think our update in 2005 was "Pointless"?

I liked when we updated the logo. It's a lot more detailed and original.

I have no problem with our logo. That should stay as is, but get new modernized FloJos to go with it.

Yes, and I didn't like adding the light grey as the tertiary color and giving it a little more prominence overall, either, even as just being basically an outline.

Shouldn't that have a # in front of it, as in #IhatetheKnicks?
