"The Bucks and Wolves have discussed a trade that would send Andrew Bogut plus the No. 10 pick to Minnesota for the No. 2 pick plus cap filler, sources tell 1500ESPN.

According to the report, the Bucks initiated the calls."

I for one am a big Bogut fan. I am not overly worried about his latest injury either although it appears the Bucks may be and I am just out of the loop. Hibbert + #15 and Rush for Bogut and maybe someone like Larry Sanders? I am down with something like this personally.

Beyond just learning of Bogut's potential availability the article gives a number of other speculative points about the #2 pick as a whole that are rather interesting IMO:

The Wolves are not making nearly as many calls as they're taking.

Multiple sources say the Wolves and Milwaukee Bucks have talked about a trade, with the main pieces being No. 2 for No. 10 and center Andrew Bogut. It's believed Milwaukee initiated those talks, probably because there is some uncertainty about Bogut's long-term health. He broke his right hand, dislocated his elbow and sprained his wrist in a nasty fall in April 2010 against Phoenix. "It's OK so far,'' Bogut told a newspaper in his native Australia last week after undergoing arthoscopic surgery on his elbow. ''But it's still hard to tell. I'm starting with a lighter load than usual because the next season is so far away. I will build it up from here. The real questions will be answered after I've been through four or five weeks of training.'' Bogut also reportedly suffers from chronic migraine headaches. He has three years and $39 million left on his contract -- a hefty load with so many questions surrounding a presumed new salary cap with a fresh collective bargaining agreement.

The Houston Rockets have been as aggressive as anyone, but do they have the necessary assets? Even with power forward Luis Scola or two-guard Kevin Martin available, I'll argue no.

The Charlotte Bobcats, who have the No. 9 pick -- Alec Burks/Marshon Brooks/Bismarck Biyombo territory -- have called the Wolves. But what other asset(s) can they couple with No. 9 that is worthy of a top-two pick?

The Washington Wizards think highly of Williams. Highly enough to offer big man JaVale McGee plus the sixth pick? Doubtful.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are salivating at the idea of introducing Williams and Irving to their fan base on Friday. Would No. 4 (Kanter) plus Anderson Varejao or J.J. Hickson be enough to get it done?

The Phoenix Suns, who want to move up from No. 13, have called. Phoenix center Marcin Gortat, presumably in the discussions, chimed in via his Twitter account: "About that trade for mr. Williams??? Its front office people decision but i will always be part of suns army. Its bizness its ok."

As always, don't be shocked if at least one potential move is there to be made that has never been bandied about.

In the end, I think Williams is the pick and, before the night is through, ends up wearing a different team's hat. Kahn's ability to make a successful trade -- Michael Beasley and Anthony Randolph -- trumps his college scouting acumen.

This is the first time in the Wolves' draft history they own a pick as high as No. 2. Even with Kahn's drafting record -- seven first-round picks and little to show -- it's hard to screw this one up. You take Williams, or Irving if he somehow falls, and decide from there.

Otherwise, a new documentary trailer might be seen soon: "Bad General Manager!"

Bogut hasn't been quite the same since that injury, but maybe he just needs another year to strengthen and recover it. However, I like this trade a lot more for the Wolves than the Gortat trade, that's for sure.

About the title.....my guess is that Bogut is available ONLY for a top 3-4 pick...not that Bogut is available in general.

As for #2 for Bogut+10?

Wow....I could barely accept #2 for Bogut ( which is different then #2 for Gortat )....add in that the Bucks have to add the #10 pick and I'd think that would be overpaying.

Well, at least we know what the asking price is for #2.....a solid Starting Center.

Huge gamble, considering Bogut is coming off of an injury that seems to have really hampered him.

I don't know about that. When healthy, Bogut is the superior player. But will Bogut ever be fully healthy again? I mean, would the Bucks even entertain trading Bogut if they don't think he's damaged goods?

Clearly, trading for Bogut is higher risk higher reward than with Gortat.

I know Bogut was shaky because of the injury (man that was gross) last year, but he still put up 13/11/2.6 and played his usual great D. Maybe Milwaukee knows he's not ever going to be fully healthy again, but if he is, him AND the 10 for the 2 seems like too much to me.

Well, that offer (if true) takes the Pacers out of the running for the #2 pick. We can't offer anything as good as that.

Bogut is a ridiculously good fit with Minnesota. You can joke all you want, but Rubio/X/Johnson/Love/Bogut with Beasley/Randolph/etc. is a playoff bound lineup.

Wow. This deal would suck for the Bucks. Unless Bogut has real long term issues with his hand.

Sounds like a bogus, but what do I know. No.2 pick in a bad draft for a guy who's easily a top 20 player when healthy, not to mention a true center, second or third best at his position, and still young? And you also get a no.10 pick in return?

If Khan can pull this off his critics would look silly.

Not sure how anyone would say the Bucks are getting impatient with his injuries. I mean they've kept Michael Redd on the roster so long and all...

If this happens, Bucks fans can kiss Squad 6 goodbye!

Well, not like they had much of a choice with that contract. Kinda a Brandon Roy situation.

Redd missed 7 games total over 3 years before signing his current deal with Bucks... And soon after he broke down and became untradeable.
I'm not sure what you mean by saying they are patient. They never had a choice.

I'm not sure about playoff bound and Rubio/X/Johnson part, but that frontline is as good as anyone's, including Lakers or Grizzlies.

If Bogut is at least close to healthy, they are instantly competitive for playoff spots, that's for sure.

Bucks are going to SUCK!

Not that they already don't, but they are going to be even worse.

Hard to believe they went 46-36 in 2010 with this same garbage.

I don't remember where I read the comment, Hoophype?, that the Bucks were thinking of trading their #10 b/c they thought with the roster they have was a 45-50 win team next year.

Hum, I guess they must have changed their mind. I'll bet Skiles isn't real happy about now.

When Redd signed with the Bucks, I thought "We're hosed. He's going to be lighting us up for years."

Whoops.

Unless the Bucks are getting Kevin Love in return I'm not at all happy about this. :irked:
