Yeah, sorry about your team. I was kinda rooting for the Colts. I like to see new teams in the Superbowl. Although I miss the dynasties of yore.

bulletproof
01-18-2004, 04:57 PM
Okay, it's 13-0. If the Colts can come back here and score, they're still in the hunt. Manning will regroup at half and come back to lead his team to victory. Colts defense is on the field too much right now. They need a break.

zxc
01-18-2004, 04:58 PM
Need to get on the board this possesion or not much hope gonna be left.

zxc
01-18-2004, 05:05 PM
What kind of play was that on 3rd and 17? Well, at least they didn't throw an interception.. =\

And they blow the punt and give them a saftey.. could anything else go wrong?

bulletproof
01-18-2004, 05:06 PM
What the hell was that on 3rd and long?

Damn, safety.

Fumble recovery, nice.

The team that scored the safety gets the ball kicked to them from the opposing team's own 20. So they get the 2 points and the ball.

Hicks, 2 minutes and 2 timeouts is an ETERNITY in the NFL. Its MORE than enough time to go 80 yards.

Secondly, when you're down 7 points, you dont worry about the other team's offense, you take your TD when you can get it.

And since we have a little delay, the onside kick was a good move. No matter WHAT field position you give the other team, the game would have been over after 1 first down. The onside kick is a chance to get the ball without the other team having posession first, you have to try it.

Ouch. On replay, that was NOT pass INT. Pollard did an outstanding acting job though, he really had me fooled.

Once the pass was away, the defender was NOT holding on to Pollard.

Patriots will not win the Super Bowl.

You get stopped by one of the worst defenses ever 5 times and have to settle for field goals. You won't be able to win against the Panthers D like that.

You could make the same case for Montana, who never had impressive stats either....the point is, you don't QB a team to 2 superbowls in 3 years by being "just another cog in the machine." ESPECIALLY not when you have very little all-star talent around you on offense.

1st thing: Pro Bowlers are the most popular players, not a measure of the talent around you.

2nd thing: I'm sure Brady was the only one carrying his team. I'm sure his defense had no effect on the turnout of this game. Brady was less than stellar.

Montana never really "carried" his team either...he had more talent around him than anybody else.

By your logic, you can certainly dictate that Marino was the better QB, and I'm not here to debate that. I just saw it as a good QB comparison.

Here's what Brady has to do. Dump it off to RB's and WR's score about 14-17 points and win because a very impressive defense. Granted its a great feat to get there twice but there are several guys that could replace Manning.

Remember Brady's drive to set up the game-winnign kick against the Rams? Thats all he did there too. The point is, he takes what the D give him, just like Montana did. Montana NEVER threw deep, yet he was a pretty effective QB, though he never put up great stats.

If Joe Montana never won 4 superbowls, you'd look at his stats and you'd NEVER be able to tell he was a great QB.

No Shade - we will be back.

I grew up a Cowboy fan. Well, until Jerry Jones, Jimmy Johnson and barry Switzer. The road to the Super Bowl was painful. Losses to Cleveland in the playoffs, 2 consecutive losses to the Packers in the Championship game then the last second field goal by Jim O'Brien in the Super Bowl (ironically, the Colts) before we got OUR win.

We are in the middle of a process. Next year, more parts will be there. Hopefully, defensively. I really, really do believe next year will be our year despite a killer schedule.

Next year will be an Indianapolis Super Bowl!

Since the Texans came into the league, they have a new setup in which you know next year's schedule before the playoffs begin. I believe we play the AFC West (4 games) and the NFC North (4 games) plus our divison (6 games) and 2 extra.
