1) "Rick Welts talked to several friends and associates, including David Stern, before going public."

2) "Welts, believed to be the first man in a prominent position in men's sports who has declared his homosexuality, says he wants to now mentor other gay people who seek to pursue a career in sports, according to The New York Times."

3) coincidentally, David Stern appears in the article photo with Welts;)

I'm thinking the commish should really follow this dude out of the closet. I mean, not like Stern is fooling anyone.

We can only hope when it comes to Stern:

Out of the closet

Out of the job (eventually --well, sooner than later)

a better league; at least, a more rationally run league
