Now that Trump's gone, I'm backing Big Roy in the Pace Car. It's gotta be either that or him singing "Back Home Again in Indiana"

PS&E needs to get on this pronto!

If the 500 doesn't want to go with a former driver/winner or someone with a patriotic but non-political connection then Brad Stevens would surely be a popular pick.

And to get this a little more back on topic... They couldn't go wrong with Reggie Miller as the driver either.

Stupid question...but do they have Pace cars that can fit a person that is 7 foot 2 inches?

There's a reason why many Basketball Players drive Cadillac Escalades and SUVs ;)

AJ Foyt is driving the pace car.

Unless you have inside info, Foyt is the frontrunner (apparently) but nothing official has been decided and won't be until after a Friday meeting.

RTV6 had that news broken early this evening and ran the story on the 7pm newscast.

I was going off what the Star reported at 6:15PM-

...although it sounds like it's all but a done deal even from that.

Kinda wonder why Foyt or one of the other 4 time winners wasn't picked in the first place...

Something to do with a cross-promotion with the Speedway and Trump through the Van Huesen company. They sponsor both the series and Trump, I believe.

To stay relevant in our trendy society that doesn't value much in the line of tradition... :geezer:

Couldn't have gone wrong with Brad Stevens. Even though I could see him going, "aw chucks, I'm flattered but I gotta clean the floors at Hinkle."

So Foyt's official? Bummer, was hoping for Lance. At least we'd know where he is for a few hours.

I want someone from Seal Team 6 in that car, even if he has to wear a mask to protect his identity and they can't announce it till that morning.

So true RG. Annoying. The best thing the 500 has going for it is tradition.

I'm a little bummed not being able to see Donald Trump's "hair" flowing in the wind at 100 mph.

For next year's Pace Car Driver I nominate Sy Sperling of the Hair Club for Men!

Al Rocker would have been a good choice. Everyone loves Al Rocker. And he's a meteorologist!
