He will come cheap as he barely got off the pine in Denver in the playoffs.

Hopefully, he will finally put it all together if he signs with us.

From a pure talent standpoint... he's got it in spades. Tremendous around the rim, unbelievable 3-ball range...

From an off-the-court and just mental aspect, including decision-making on or off the court... he just seems like an incident waiting to happen. Hell... he's already caused an off-the-court incident (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4298594) that frankly makes me just absolutely cringe.

He's a very talented player. So talented that he could be an All-Star. He would be the perfect fit for this team based on talent alone.

Yet, he is so incredibly immature and stupid that he would ruin this team chemistry wise both on and off the court. Not a single person on the team would like him. He'd make Lance look like a choir boy. And he can't put it together to ever be anything more than a 6th/7th man. Thanks, but no thanks.

pass...we already have too many wing Players. The only Wing position that we need is a Starting SG....not a backup one.

I really like JR Smith talent-wise and would think he would start over PG at the 2 spot, but PG would push hard to keep it. Don't care for the off-court stuff, but he does bring the moxie to the court. His jump shot is pretty sweet and he has tremendous range.

No thank you.

As has been stated before, the guy is a good player.

But, he's a pure cancer in the locker room. It seems we already have 1 immature player on our team. We don't need another.

No. I don't see it happening regardless of how I feel. I think the Pacers have their hands full with Lance at the moment trying to get him straightened out. 2 problem cases is probably a bit much.

This video makes a valid point. He can dunk.

I echo what others have said: His talent and skill set would be a very welcome addition to our team and would help, but his attitude sucks. Pass.

No thank you. Not worth it.

Take it from a Pacers fan living in Colorado. We don't want J.R. Smith. Most Nuggets fans would be happy to cut him.

We already have our trouble maker in Lance.

On the court, he'd be perfect. I've heard so many bad things about his attitude though...

He's not first on my list because of his issues, but if the Pacers did sign him, I think I'd be excited for it. Maybe Coach Vogel (counting chickens, yes) would be able to deal with him because he's a good player's coach, I don't know.

And, I'd buy his jersey, because Smith is my last name.

According to the Forum thus far...

Injured potential > Demonstrated Talent

So according to a good number of you guys, it would be fine if we got Smith and cut Lance?

I guess we gotta keep it at 1 malcontent. Anything else is just silly

If he would play with 100 percent effort all of the time and keep his mouth shut he could be an all-star. He has the talent to score 25 points a game. He also drives the ball to the basket as good as any guard in the league.
He need to get the attitude just shut your mouth and play. Then, I would take him right now!

JR Smith:

10 Million dollar Talent

10 dollar Brain

When your coach, your fans, and your teammates don't like you... you have a serious attitude problem. The only reason he was still in Denver this year is because no one would take him in a trade.

I believe JR should just stick with golf.
