I'd bet anything that they aren't going to let Reggie do any Pacers' game

He is announcing tonight. That probably means there is a good chance.

So far Dick Stockton has been involved, not sure that changes

Reggie wont do any of the pacer playoff games. Read that somewhere and in other threads here on PD.

Stockton's doing the Thunder - Nuggets Monday night.

I think you get TNT's #1 duo, Marv Albert and Steve Kerr. They'll probably keep Reggie and Kevin Harlan on the Lakers - Hornets series, which is the 10:30 game that night.

I like Marv and Kerr. Jackson, Van Gundy and Breen are a close second.

I surprisingly really liked the job Chris Webber did, in game 2

I agree. He displayed some knowledge and had a surprising lack of arrogance compared to his playing days.

I was really surprised I liked him, let alone tolerated him. I couldn't stand him when he played due to his attitude.

kevin harlan's my favourite commentator, by far. wish he'd be doing our game.

I was expecting to want to gouge ice picks into my eardrums listening to CWebb during Game 2, but I was shockingly also very pleasantly surprised by his commentary.

He was actually pretty unbiased and seemed to even be impressed and happy about the Pacers success during the majority of the game.

Yeah me too. When I saw he was announcing the game I sent a text to friend laughing about how Webber seemingly hates the Pacers, and how he smashed them all year in the NBATV studio. I thought we were in for an almost comical performance from him. Four minutes of game time later I had to eat my words. I liked Webber a lot. Unbiased, smooth voice and delivery mixed with player insights. He seemed to like the young Pacers a little too. I guess that's what can happen when, you know, he actually pays attention to our squad.

Quick Question: Are tickets for game 6 refundable in case we lose game 5? I would assume so, but one never knows with ticketmaster. Lots of great (and expensive) tickets available.

Yes, they are refundable from the point of purchase.

No problem. I'm actually surprised that we have sold that many tickets already.

Hopefully they are all Pacers fans that believe!

According to El Pacero on Twitter, there will (probably) be a viewing party at Kilroy's in Indy, with PTO meeting early beforehand. Since I'm home for spring break, I'll be trying to make it, since I haven't managed to watch a single game with as dedicated fans as myself.

I keep seeing this stuff about TNT not letting Reggie do our games, is that purely because he played here? Are they afraid he'll be more of a homer than Kerr will be for the bulls? Has anyone seen or heard this as a fact or is it all just rumor?

If that's the case Jon Barry should NEVER be allowed to do Bulls games ever again.

Why can Mark Jackson be on the crew for the Knicks game, different network, different policy?

I don't think that is the case at all. There have been 4 games played and one was on ESPN and another was on NBATV. So two have been on TNT TNT has 5 sets of announcers, so I think it just hasn't worked out.

I think TNT would be more than willing to have Reggie do the games.

TV ratings continue to soar. There is some local tv ratings in this article. Most teams are also broadcasting the games, but the pacers are not, so the TNT rating all that watched the game locally.

http://www.sportsmediawatch.net/2011/04/nba-playoffs-tnts-overnights-up-50-on.html

Overnight ratings increased substantially for the second weekend of the NBA Playoffs on TNT.

Sunday's NBA Playoff doubleheader on TNT averaged a 3.9 overnight rating, up 50% from last year's comparable coverage (2.6).

In particular, Lakers/Hornets Game 4 drew a 4.6 overnight, up a whopping 84% from last year (DEN/UTA G4: 2.5), and up 109% from 2009 (POR/HOU G4: 2.2). The TNT broadcast drew a 17.7 rating in New Orleans and a 9.7 in Los Angeles.

The 4.6 overnight matches Game 1 of the series one week earlier, which aired on broadcast network ABC.

Earlier in the night, the Hawks' Game 4 win over the Magic earned a 3.3 overnight, up 22% from last year (DAL/SA G4: 2.7), and up 83% from 2009 (ORL/PHI G4: 1.8). The TNT telecast earned a 6.2 in Atlanta and a 5.0 in Orlando.

On Saturday, TNT averaged a 2.7 overnight for an afternoon doubleheader, also up 50% from last year (1.8).

First, the Pacers' season-saving win over the Bulls drew a 2.8 overnight, up 87% from last year (ORL/CHA G3: 1.5). TNT's coverage drew a 9.8 in Indianapolis and a 6.3 in Chicago.

Later in the day, the Trail Blazers' stirring comeback win over the Mavericks earned a 2.7 overnight, up 35% from last year (PHX/POR G4: 2.0), and up 108% from 2009 (SA/DAL G4: 1.3). TNT's coverage earned a 5.3 in Dallas and a 4.9 in Portland.

Keep in mind when viewing the local numbers that first round NBA Playoff games on TNT and ESPN co-exist with local broadcasts in the home markets.

We are definitely gonna be on national TV next year!

Those numbers looked way better than I expected. I'm guessing that could be the reason so many locals weren't at the game - they stayed home and watched. At least they are watching.

I hope the Pacers can get one more win to push those fans on the fence onto the Pacers bandwagon for game 6 and next season.

Actually, I was really hoping for the late start, as I'm on a plane to Toronto at 8:30 (cue Kirk screaming 'Kaaahhhhnnn!').

Figure off the plane by 9:30, should be able to catch the fourth near/at the hotel (if I can find a non-hockey tv somewhere unless the room gets TSN 2... equiv of ESPN 2).

Otherwise, I'll chalk it up to taking one for the team karma-wise.
