I'm not sure where Mr. Inconsistancy's head was on that 3pt shot foul. Grrr.
Dahntay has been agressive this game which I like to see. I probably like Dahntay more than most, and would take advantage of his playoff experience and "D" once into the playoffs. I just don't see Rush as part of the core going forward.

Hibbert seems to be having trouble with his foot work in the post the 1st half. He is too easily pushed around and off stride. Needs to work on his body strength this off season. I'm surprised he has 6 rebs.

1. Danny was the man tonight... A pure beast.

2. Jeff Teague is very fast. He makes DC look slow, which is really saying something.

3. Looked like Dahntay was going to take all of BRush's minutes based on DJ's play in the 1st half. We did see plenty of BRush in the 2nd, though.

4. Decent game by Roy. Part of me wants to tell him to flop when he gets pushed in the low block, but I doubt it'd be called, but it might get someone a quick, easy foul.

5. Roy really likes to turn to his left and shoot with his right hand. He even prefers rolling out of picks to the right. I think he needs to work turning to his right with a left handed hook on the low block as well as a right foot drop step move and rolling out of picks to the left when on the right side of the court when the ball is cutting to the top of the key. Rolling left would leave him rolling down the lane for a lob pass close to the basket.

6. Oh, a a sky hook for Roy would be great, too. ;)

7. Great game by the Pacers despite JSmith being out for the Hawks.

By the way, even with all of the excuses getting tossed around about this win, I still see better decisions and passes and plays being made by our guys that they simply weren't making before, and it doesn't all have to do with playing against soft defense. The success of some of those plays is certainly a product of the soft D, but no matter what the defense is doing, better decision making is still better decision making, doing things you didn't used to do is still showing improvement.

Collison had a nice game, but he got abused by a reserve in Teague for 20+ points. That to me doesn't bode well. Price has decided he's the designated shooter who hasn't figured it out he can't shoot... even FT. I'll give Price another year, but I have my doubts he'll be a Pacer after next season. I still feel the Pacers need a good experienced PG for the next year or two.

Why the hell?

For a better draft pick and to rest the starters a little. I don't really expect the boys to lay down though as Vogel said he wants to keep the rotation. I wish I had watched the game tonight as it sounds like we played really well. Did it seem like the hawks were taking it seriously or did they treat it like a garbage game? Either way it should give our players some positive vibes heading into the play offs.

I realize you pointed out Teague is a reserve, and you're right, he's not nearly Derrick Rose, but you know what? Teague is a scorer, and scoring point guards can light it up any night. This game didn't sway my opinion of DC's defense one way or another.

You do realize that once your in the playoffs a worse record doesn't effect draft position unless you move up or down in the seeding right?

We're set in 8th, nothing else we do matters from a draft perspective.

We're getting the 15th pick (best pick a team in the playoffs can get).

Playoff teams aren't in the lottery.

That's fine if you want the rotation guys to rest, but wanting them to lose makes no sense. You want to win no matter what.

This team just looks different. Now whether or not they can keep it up is a different story.

Still, this team just looks different. They're playing with confidence.

DC is getting going.

PG is starting to get out of his rookie slump

Danny is playing really well and very unselfish.

Tyler is continuing to bring toughness

Roy is really playing confidently offensively as well.

Not to mention, everyone is playing key roles (sometimes...) on the bench.

AND, our defense has actually been somewhat tough.

Got to go to the game tonight thanks to Professor S. Big thanks to him again.

Granger looked really good tonight, hit some nice shots, but he was also driving to the rim and posting up Marvin Williams as well. I hope he can keep the diversity up in his game.

Josh is great off the bench. Very versatile, and great as a point forward. Made some great passes and made a lot of smart plays.

Paul George looked pretty good, at times he dribbled the ball too much when he should have passed.

DC had a sneaky good game. Didn't really notice him a lot, then looked at the scoreboard and he had 10 points and 10 assits.

Hansborough looks really comfortable out there hitting those 15 foot shots. Extremely hard worker and great motor. Didn't seem to do well trying to score from the post one on one against Horford.

Foster looked good off the bench bringing energy and rebounding and making a few putbacks.

Roy looked really good overall, made some great moves, but needs to finish better around the rim.

Dahntay was relentless going to the rim off of the bench.

Overall great game, took the lead off the bat and never looked back. We need to keep up this level of play. Chicago is going to be tough, but if we play like this we can give them a run for their money.

You know, I think Tyler has made huge strides since last year. Horford is the type of player who would have destroyed Tyler last year. That bull rush would have been met with swat into the stands. I knew Tyler would have to get his midrange solid, but he's exceeded my expectations with that nice pump fake....all put together in less than a year. Tyler is pretty solid out there including on help D lately. Whether or not he is the answer for the position or not, he's certainly making more of a case for it. It will be interesting to see if he can improve further. I think many of us assume he cannot. Perhaps he has other plans...

Hell yeah!

Seriously, I haven't seen this much pride, and fanhood returning to the Pacers since before the brawl.

Everyone loves this team.

From the games to public places in the city. I see more people wearing Pacers gear and talking good things about the Pacers.

The players seem to be thrilled to have high attendance coming soon.

I asked a ticket rep about playoff tickets and she said this is the first day they're up for sale and only at the Fieldhouse for now and a lot have been sold and there were long lines waiting to get them (assuming like the one on Black Friday that I waited on for an hour to get by mini pack) and she believes once they're on sale online, they will sellout pretty quickly so get your tickets soon.

I see tickets selling out before those bandwagon dip****s have a chance to invade our house.

GO BACK TO CHICAGO LOSERS!!!!!!!!

Bandwagon fans = Losers!

I have to agree with this as long as we don't get swept in the playoffs.

I think that if we can win at least 2 games against the Bulls(which is my realistic goal) we can easily average 16000 next season.

It will also help if we can acquire some key names in free agency.

Getting Eric Gordon via free agency will probably result in every home game being a sellout.

The fact that we're bringing back a hometown favorite and a star to lead the Pacers and also he'll make us a winning team and perhaps a playoff winning team.

I hope we can some how get him. He definitely wants to come home again so it's possible we can swing a deal that the Clippers will understand.

Eric isn't the type of rising star that would want to be in the big market, he wants to come to the true basketball state and be closer to his family.

He'd be the perfect leader for this team.

I'm not sure if one player could result in selling out every game, but he would definitely help with our attendance.

Yeah it's just wishful thinking.

Now, we'd probably be getting at least 16,700 or so per game if we got Eric Gordon AND we're winning and competing in the playoffs.

After watching this game, I feel like Dahntay Jones needs to be in the rotation against the bulls. I love this dude + he plays defense + he is aggressive as hell even sometimes beyond his abilities. I would find a place for him if it means fewer minutes for Rush.

Watching this game was the first time in probably 8 years I've felt like I was watching a real team with some young, exciting talent.

Darren Collison is really starting to round out I think.

I just don't see where Gordon fits unless he can play full time point gaurd? I sure don't want an undersized 2 or 3 starting with Collison, and I really like George's length and wingspan next to Granger. It is harder to pass or shoot from the perimeter when there is athletic length defending, and Paul George may have more length than any 2 in the league, and his quickness and athleticism is on par with most all rookie 2s I have ever seen. It's harder to shoot over guys who are long and athletic and Paul George has proven he is the best on this team already at interupting passing lanes.

Guys with more length can also get their shots off easier. I know it isn't everything but I always thought if EJ is your number one option, that you will never be a contender due to size issues, unless your one and threes are longer than average. I felt this way when he was at IU and I still feel this way today. How will he adapt when his athleticism is hampered by age or injury?

And I'm really not sure that Gordon would make a better PG than Collison? Collison is already undersized, so unless Stephenson is the PG in the future, an undersized SG just doesn't make sense.

Anyways, great win against Atlanta tonight. Joe Smith didn't play, but there are no excuses. I think it would have been closer if he would have played but I said to my friend there is no way we let Atlanta sweep us again this year. I also said the same thing about the Bulls and Celtics games.

The one thing we have learned about this team under Frank Vogel is we can adjust. Under O'Brien, it seems we could surprise a few teams, then they would adjust to us and figure us out and wipe the court with us. Well it seems the opposite to me now, we figure teams out that beat us and beat them. When this is a young core accomplishing this, then the future is VERY bright. Our halftime adjustments seem night and day as well. I can remember countless times we went into the locker room with a competitive game, only to get blown out in the first few minutes of the 3rd under JOB.

I'm glad we seem to have figured out the slow starts, and I think that is due to Vogel and the players having some games under their belts in the new schemes/rotations.

Great win tonight! Great to hear BOOM BABY return tonight. The passion in his voice when he said it reminded me of the 90s tonight!!!!:happydanc

Not the highest quality shot in the world but this is a photo my wife took as we were coming down the stairs. Keep in mind this is at 7:05 while the Hawks were being announced.

The inside when I got in there was already pretty packed and this was the line outside.

I was really hoping that this was people lining up for playoff tickets, however there is another story sadly. Someone put a large group at will call and this backed up the lines. So while there were a lot of people getting tickets for the playoffs, some of this was from the group trying to get in.

However the real positive for me is that even this is a great sign because just a few months ago you couldn't give Pacers tickets away.

At 6:55 I paid $80 for 2 tickets at face value of $138 dollars a piece. Nothing like a little procrastination on my part.

I feel the same way about Dahntay, and stated so in an earlier post. Rush's game is rushing him out the door, so those who are Rush fans had best take advantage of watching his last 9 games as a Pacer.

I hope we can some how get him. He definitely wants to come home again so it's possible we can swing a deal that the Clippers will understand.

Eric isn't the type of rising star that would want to be in the big market, he wants to come to the true basketball state and be closer to his family.

How do you know this? How do you know he wants to come back here? How do you know he wants to leave LA? Why would you assume he's so eager to ditch So. Cal along with one of the most exciting young players in the league in Griffin?

I just don't buy for a second that he'd be eager to ditch LA to come back to Indy.

I thought it was encouraging to see them play so hard last night even though their positioning can't change at all. Losing those games against Sacramento and Detroit a couple weekends ago really seems to have taught them that you can't just turn it on and off. We're playing some decent ball heading into the playoffs. I think we can frustrate Chicago a bit.

DC is steppin it up.

D C got the ball ripped from him and had to foul by Kirk Hinrich. A man wearing REC SPECS. That is embarrassing on every level of basketball from YMCA to NBA.

Born Ready in street clothes. Terrible.

Teague looks to have balked up. He had zero problem taking the ball "all the way up Meridan" against the Garbage Defense of the Pacers.

i asked last night, how many tickets do you think have been sold already? (to the ticket rep) she replied MANY and also keep in mind they aren't on sale online yet so that the rest will probably sellout within a day or so once they go online.

i also asked does she think the bulls fans will invade the fieldhouse and she laughed and said probably not because of all the tickets are going fast and everyone indy is looking to come

im going back later today. i didn't feel like missing part of the game last night waiting online

There are actually quite a few guards that can say they were ripped by a man we3aring "REC SPECS." That's the one thing that has kept Kirk in the league is his excellent defense. He can guard anybody.

Word. Having Gordon now would make the team much better immediately but in the long run they could never compete. PG is just going to be a much better player than Gordon.

People just put way too much emphasis on PPG.

most guards are small so i dont have a problem

eric gordon is a sg.

i wouldn't have an issue with he and Darren Collison playing with each other.

yeah its a small guard lineup but theres no problem with it

eric gordon can defend opposing guards very well no matter how tall they are

i wouldnt be worried about either gordon or collison playing with each other

Last night's win guaranteed a better record than any of O'Brien's full seasons.

The crazy thing is that we could win out and finish with the same record as the '96-'97 Pacers.

If we win the last two games we can end up with a better records than utah and phoenix, meaning we would only be behind houston as far as non-playoff western teams go.
