View Full Version : Is there going to be a Pacers Greatest Games volume 2?

When will we see Pacers Greatest Games volume 2? I pre-ordered volume one when it came out a few years ago. I remember they let fans vote for the 4 greatest games. There were several choices that didn't make it to volume one. Most notably the Orlando/Indiana memorial day miracle as well as Reggie's franchise record single game scoring record vs Charlotte. Those two games would be easy choices for volume 2. (side note: I know there isn't a lot of love for Jermaine O'Neal but one of the classiest moves I've ever seen in the NBA was Jermaine pulling himself from the game at home vs Milwaukee where he could have easily broke Reggie's 57. I'm sure you all agree that its nice to still see Reggie holding that record. Jermaine will always be a class act in my book.)

So what games do you guys think will be on Vol. 2?

*EDIT

Sorry admins but for whatever reason it wouldn't let me name the thread "When will we see Pacers Greatest Games Vol. 2?" ...I was messing around and accidentally pushed submit before I was able to rename it. I apologize. Could one of you please rename it to something more appropriate? Thanks in advanced.

I don't think we'll see a vol. 2 box set, unfortunately.

The first volume, as of right now, has videoscanned 1,166 units, which is way below the number of units (in my estimate) that would warrant a 2nd volume.

If they put the brawl game in 3D they might sell 100k units

I have a copy of volume 1. It's a nice looking set, but a few special features would have been nice.

Regardless, I would love a volume 2 :)

I too have volume 1 and I'm disaapointed in the picture quality for the first three games, only the game against the Knicks in 2000 is good quality.

I'm not expecting a second one.

Maybe if it was called "Reggie Miller's playoff hits" it would have sold better?

I wish there were more games in the "Pacers greatest games."

Too bad there isn't enough of us hard core Pacers fans to make a volume 2 worth there time and money.

The Pacers need some more great games to warrant a second volume. I wish they would slip an ABA game on one of these volumes too.

I'd like to see more games made available, but I'd also like to see a long, multi-disc documentary on the history of the Pacers, with a lot of retrospectives, a lot of clips, that takes us from '67 until the present.

This would be awesome. Unfortunately, as has been stated above, I doubt there are enough of us hardcore fans to make producing such a thing worthwhile.

The footage was low quality, but they used to run a "documentary" about the ABA Pacers on the local Indy gov't channel (was channel 16 at the time). It contained lots of ABA clips/anecdotes and interviews from a lot of the people involved with the team (and played a lot of a Carly Simon song as the theme...can't remember which song).

I can think of about 20 games that would warrant a box set release.

Licensing issues aside, it's possible that these games could eventually pop up on iTunes, or better, Warner will do a deal with Hulu that's similar to the deal they did for the NFL. Then you'd get a ton of stuff for free.

Would be great to have some ABA games and or the ABA Pacer Championship years on dvd. Heard from a pretty good source that Slick has tons of film. Maybe the Pacers front office would be willing to work something out for all parties involved.

I thought it was odd that none of the 1991 Celtics series didn't make it into the collection. Even though we lost the series, that was the point where the Pacers hooked me for LIFE.

Only 1,166, yeah for a business that is far too few to warrant a vol. 2. It is highly likely they didn't even make any money on that few of units.

From the listing it looks like the DVD only contains highlights of the series. This makes me wonder how much film there actually is and what happened to the rest of it. Also, this has to be circulated in some other way than a bootlegger's markup on ebay. Has anyone seen this footage anywhere else?

Game 5 is famous for Bird hitting the floor, but how about game 4 in MSA which was the first time the Pacers won 2 games in an NBA playoff series.

And I really want one of Detlef's triple double games. Det has to easily be the most forgotten Pacers NBA all-star.

Yeah he likes to post and talk about them but whenever anyone asks him where he got them or if he could share he doesn't reply...

He is a member on a website where you have to pay a fee and get any game they have in thier system or you have to upload your games for a membership.

Thanks for clearing that up. Makes me wonder how many ABA games are out there.

Because I'm not allowed to advertise the site, nor share the footage online. I can point people in the right direction, and I've already done so, but that's all. As time goes by I'm allowed some freebe invites, but there's a limited number, and I'm rather selective about it.

Not to mention, I don't feel like towing the line on PD by providing links to game sharing sites.

I've got ten, plus the 1972 ABA vs NBA all-star game.
