On offense, the Pacers average 99.7 points per game (13th in the NBA) on
44.1% field goal shooting (26th in the league). The Pacers’ biggest problem
on offense is their inability to create shots at the rim. According to Hoopdata,
this Indiana team only manufactures 22.0 shots at the rim per game (23rd in
the association). The biggest reason for this quite frankly is because they are
a jump shooting team. The Pacers do have some good scorers such as Danny
Granger, Darren Collison, Tyler Hansbrough, Roy Hibbert; but these players
are all more comfortable taking jump shots as opposed to taking the ball to
the basket. Indeed, Hansbrough and Hibbert play in the frontcourt but seem
to be at ease when facing up their defenders, sizing them up and then taking
midrange shots. The same is true for Granger and Collison, who like to
aggressively run pick and rolls to shoot midrange jumpers. This explains why
the Pacers only average...CONTINUE READING AT WARRIORSWORLD.NET (http://www.warriorsworld.net/2011/02/28/scope-golden-state-warriors-indiana-pacers/)

I liked this little selection from the GSW Wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_State_Warriors

On January 17, 2007, Golden State traded Troy Murphy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Murphy), Mike Dunleavy, Jr. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Dunleavy,_Jr.), Ike Diogu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ike_Diogu), and Keith McLeod (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_McLeod) to the Indiana Pacers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indiana_Pacers) for forward Al Harrington (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Harrington), forward/guard Stephen Jackson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Jackson), guard Šarūnas Jasikevičius (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%A0ar%C5%ABnas_Jasikevi%C4%8Dius), and forward Josh Powell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_Powell).[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_State_Warriors#cite_note-7) This trade allowed the Warriors to "run and gun" their way to the playoffs with a more athletic and talented team. On March 4, 2007, the Warriors suffered a 107–106 loss in Washington handing them their 6th straight loss when Gilbert Arenas hit a technical free throw with less than one second remaining. The loss dropped them to 26–35, a hole inspiring the squad to a point of total determination.

A few quick observations:

I think we miss Dunleavy. He gets skewered around here and his injury was widely celebrated, but I really think we miss him.

Lance's 1-7 looks ugly, but he's gotten to the rim with ease and been fouled on at least 3 of those misses. Refs aren't giving him the calls.

I think it's safe to say we need upgrades at the 2 and the 4 before we can consider ourselves a good team. Even with Vogel to start the season, I have a hard time believing we would be a .500 team.

The hot streak to start the Vogel era was greatly aided by the schedule.

The hot streak to start the Vogel era was greatly aided by the schedule.

-Brandon Rush and Josh McRoberts are flat out bad starters. Rush shoots two-three shots and they are all spot up jumpers, Josh lets the opposing power forward get waaay too many offensive rebounds and he's only a good post defender when he wants to be- Which is one out of about five games.

-Losing my faith in Darren Collison. It's a slump I know, but he's been useless. Just not being a point guard. Lance is looking good and in a couple of years he just may be better than him. He already has better court vision. BTW, I think Lance is a better point guard than shooting guard, but that's just me. He sets up guys, and somehow he defends point guards better than shooting guards. Price has been looking better than DC too.

-Danny needs to get more open looks. That's crucial.

-Dahntay has played good in this small stretch, but methinks it's time to sit him again.

Sookie

The ball needs to go into the post, almost every possession. Hibbert with the starters, Hans with the bench.

To me, Lance looked better as a shooting guard. He just looked less nervous. But the unit as a whole looked disorganized, which isn't surprising.

DC and AJ have been useless though.

We just need a shooting guard that does something on offense. Dun did a good job with movement, but if we just had more talent it would help us tremendously.. I still hold to my theory that Brandon is the worst starting shooting guard in the league, I think.

Pacers are defiintely incorporating some new lineups with Stephenson now playing. my first impression on this kid is he shows no fear. Can handle, nice jumper but could use some arc. looks like he is still very much out of game shape, a few those layups missed could be attributed to that.

refs showing him no respect and i like to see, lance will learn quickly i bet.

the offense seems to struggle with him in there though, lance is interesting prospect no doubt, he can take over a game; but there are many hurdles lance will need to overcome before he gets paid like a superstar.

i hope the best for the kid cause if he stays away from off the court issues he could be really good.

sorry for repeating everything some of you already know, glad ive been able to finally see this kid play.

more concerned with his off the court development than on court, its obvious he has abilities.

On a 50-55 win team.. Yeah.

Thabo won second team all defense last year too, my friend.

True, but they drafted a SG as the number 3 pick in the draft that year

and I dont think Harden was supposed to go that high, so what does that say about the Thunder's view of the SG position?

I bet that if he had a guy like him, everybody on this board would be complaining about him only getting 5 ppg, OK I get it you don't like Rush.

Rush would average 2 ppg and would play like 60 games a year for them.. Oh and by the way, I think OKC is going to need a good shooting guard down the line too, so I'm not in love with Thabo..

I don't know why you get upset when I give my opinion on him. He's at best a 7th/8th guy on a good team, and he's not a very good fit for us in my opinion.

He doesn't fit in that well with our team. HE can get away with 5 ppg because he is surrounded by the leading scorer in the nba, they had a good scorer in Green, they have westbrook who is a good scoring point guard and they have a good scoring sg in Harden coming off of the bench. We don't have these assets, we need scoring from our starting SG.

In my opinion he's a good 6th man for them.. A lot like Manu/Odom.

Great team game in the 3rd, but defensively, we need to stop sending Lee to the FT line.

no doubt but if you think about it

Maybe a slight edge on defense to Thabo

Driving ability Rush
3pt Rush
Mid range game Rush

I'm still worried about us for the rest of the year even if we win this.. Gaping holes at SG/PF and PG when DC is struggling.

Rush has no mid-range game

Ask yourself this: Chemistry and contracts aside, would Oklahoma City trade Thabo for Rush straight up? My guess is no.

I'd like to see Tyler shoot less jumpers in the fourth. It's fine earlier, but now it the time to be extra aggressive.

Its funny but if our former coach was coaching this game the score would be something like 102 to 106 right now

Why can't Tyler be every bit as good as Paul Millsap?
Well Millsap shots 53% while Tyler shots 43%.

When Hansbrough's on, this team plays on a different level. Hopefully he can get some consistency in time.
