Edgerrin James: Doubtful With a Hamstring Strain
RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Monday, September 20, 2004

Update: James is doubtful for Week 3 against Green Bay with a second degree hamstring strain, head coach Tony Dungy said.

Recommendation: James was treated for a "minor" leg cramp after the game, but apparently the injury was more serious when he woke up on Monday. Dominic Rhodes will start if Edge can't play.

Dammit. The man finally regains his previous form and suffers yet another injury.

Thankfully the Colts have a quite capable RB in Dominic.

its only a 2nd-degree strained hammy. Thats only a 1-week injury, 2 tops. Shouldn't be a big deal.

I think Edge could probably play versus Green Bay, but the Colts might keep him out. The Colts have Dominic and surely do not want to risk losing Edge for an extended period of time.

Colts RB James might miss Week 3

Starting RB Edgerrin James suffered a grade-2 hamstring strain on his last touchdown run against the Titans on Sunday. Head coach Tony Dungy said James will be listed as doubtful to play in Week 3 against the Packers.

That's a significant enough injury that it could keep James on the sidelines for more than this week's game.

Fantasy Analysis
If his backup Dominic Rhodes is available, pick him up if you can. Rhodes should be the No. 1 player on your waiver wire this week and he could do very well on Sunday against the Packers run defense, which stuggled to stop Bears RB Thomas Jones on Sunday. Also, backup RB James Mungro now has value for TD-only league owners because he has been very useful for the Colts inside the 5-yard line in the past.

I agree with Obnox though no need to risk further injury , let him rest and heal.

Tell that to Ken Griffey Jr.! Of course Edge does a much better job of taking care of himself than Jr. does.

Well According to Edge :

James confident he'll play

So there is a chance he may still play on Sunday.
