Wow...if what I hear about this 3-way Kidd trade is true...imagine that line-up of:

Kidd
Cassell
Sprewell
Garnett
Olowokandi

:o

Kidd/Cassell is going to work like Payton/Cassell- it wont.

In the 3-way trade rumored in the Journal-News, the Wolves would be giving up Cassell in order to get Kidd (along with Wally and Ervin Johnson, adding Kurt Thomas).

I'm happy they're in the West.

And if you're happy they're in the West, then they must be a contender.

Contender, though I think the Spurs will prevail to head to the finals.

They didn't make a whole lot of changes... I guess we'll find out if that makes them more or less of a competitor...

Definitely a contender. Maybe even more of one if the trade for Kidd goes through. They're already in the Top 5.

KG and little else (aging Sprewell; the good, the bad and the ugly - in order, Wally, O-la-wa-can't-play-can-he?, and the Martian; an iffy bench, and a troublesome owner that's handcuffed the team.)

This is a pretender that could make a little noise in the regular season but most likely they'll prove that last year's run deep into the playoffs was a fluke.

The have the best player in the NBA. Can't say much about that.

Contender, for that reason only.

 I didn't know this was a spurs thread.

last time I checked, Duncan wasn't the reigning MVP.

MVP doesn't always mean he's the best.

Kstat

In this case, it does.

Garnett had a much better season than Duncan. He took the MVP by force, its his title.

KG may be the MVP, but Duncan is still currently the best player in the world. KG's fancy stats and MVP trophy don't convince me otherwise.

Ok, he's the best because you say he is.

if you say so.

Well what else am I supposed to base my opinion on? I watch both play, and I think Duncan is better. Am I supposed to base my opinion on the media's, just because they say so? Or on stats, that come down to pretty insignificant numbers like Garnett grabbing one or two more rebounds, one or two more points. Both don't mean enough to me.

I say contender. But T-Wolves and Spurs is going to be a hell of a WCF.

And if Garnett can quit punching teammates in the face.:beat:

Enough of the Duncan/Garnett stuff already. Shaq beats them all anyway.

Back on topic - Contender. Duh.
