Why on Earth would you assume JO's not playing?

Did I miss a memo? Last I knew he played @ NY, has had 3 days to feel even better, and was looking to make up for a subpar game.

My bad - I was copying my template from the previous game where I thought JO was questionable to play. I've corrected it. :dunce:

OTOH, Sportsline has finally stopped referring to Jeff as 'Greg Foster' in their Pacer game previews, so at least I'm not the only one posting lineup goofs on occasion...

I'm sure Jalen will be looking to have a big night... he looks to be in the best physical condition he's been in for years. He actually has some muscle tone. :o

I never had anything against J-Rose. Kid has skillz. His problem is that he breaks plays too much & tries too hard at times. I remember when he was our 6th man sparkplug in 1998...always like Jalen. Never will wish a bad thing on him.

Is he an All-Star? He could be.

I think Jalen is a decent player but have a strong feeling that Al has the same problem Jalen has, they are over rating their own play and totally forgetting they are playing a team sport.

Jalen scored serious numbers, but the amount of shots he hoisted up to get there was atrocious, not to mention that on the defensive end he used to be either late or not arrive at al, something I see to often when Al promises a "big" games as well.

I am all for players having confidence and being cocky, but .... reality checks are needed and being a good roll player is something that to easily gets discarded.

Players of JO's quality are rare, to many want to become that kind of a player, and forget that they are with a lot more players on a team who can shine when they let them.

<steps of soapbox>

Now it's time for your favorite ...................

INDIANA PACERS

Couple of quick comments

Please, please J.O. block out at least once. I counted 4 offensive rebounds the Raptors got in the first half because J.O did not block out.

Glad Pacers did not trade Al Harrington today.

Nothing gets me more upset than when the Pacers end the first half poorly. They had a 14 point lead and it gets cut to 5. Should have had a 9 or 10 point lead.

Please J.O block out, please

No foul for JO there? :-/

Also, I think the key to getting more calls is to start "yelping". Reggie does it, Kobe does it, the other prep stars do it. What they do is they yell for the whistle DURING their move/shot instead of afterwards like JO, Al, and sometimes Ron do.

We DODGED a bullet there. Seems as if on our offensive series before that we really didn't have any got clock recognition. Tinsley had to force a hurried three point shot.

That could have been very bad, but thankfully they did finally call that foul on Toronto.

Three possession game......

I'm starting to relax now.

Hicks
02-06-2004, 10:49 PM
That should do it. Raptors aren't the sharpest tools in the shed right now with game management.

Of course, we have to learn to stop sticking our dick in the sand when we have the lead.

Need to play D when we're up 15 just as much as when we're down 15.

Tinsley hits the FTs. 81-74 Pacers w/ 22.8 left.

zxc
02-06-2004, 10:49 PM
Well, we won. But it wasn't pretty. Refs of course didn't help the cause down the stretch as usual.

Shade
02-06-2004, 10:49 PM
Well, looks like we're gonna gut it out.

No thanks, once again, to the refs. You can't watch how one-sided the whistles constantly go and tell me the refs aren't trying to keep the other team in. I'm getting REALLY sick of it.

Southside_Pacer

At least the ball bounced our way with us getting to the loose ball and tapping it back out. At least that ate up some clock time and he can redeem himself here.

Nets really rolling now it seems. Glad they struggled early while we were able to build such a big lead on them. Home court could be big vs them, team I worry most about in the east still.
