Just another thought: did we all fall in love with AJ because he just so happens to play really well in JOB's system??

I hope not, because I honestly feel like AJ is a better basketball player than recent games indicate.

AJ is only in his second year, so for now I think we need to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he continues to play poorly for the rest of the season then there is reason to believe that may be the case, but for someone who is only in his second year it is more likely just to be the typical inconsistency of a younger player than a player who played well within a specific system.

There are 100 flaws in his game, but he raises the intensity of the team when he's on the floor compared to Rush

Don't get mad at me, this is just my opinion and I'm in a very small minority.

I like Brandon a lot. Doesn't mean you can't like what Dahntay brings to the table too.

Plus we still need to see how Rush plays with Vogel as the coach. Dunleavy of all people seems way better on both ends of the floor already so there is no reason Rush couldn't do the same.

The best team in the NBA is OKC with 30 FT attempts per game.

Huge, Huge point. That is the one statistic that has totally ticked me off about the Pacers this year. They have taken over 30% more threes than their opponents and their opponents have taken nearly 20% more free throws. Hmmm.... wonder if those two stats are somehow related?

We are now cutting back on our threes and taking the ball to the rim a lot more. The more aggressive game in the post is getting us to the line much more.

I was shocked when I checked the stats and discovered that we had taken 25 FTs in the first half. Keep that up and we can offensively play with anyone. Defense, of course, is a different story.

aj looks for his own shot waaay too much

He took four shots the past two games

He took a lot of shots tonight because of the zone (and he's often paired with DJones)

I'm telling you, before being a Pacer, the kid never took a ton of shots.

35 minutes per game as the #1 scoring option at Uconn 10 shots per game..and godforbid if he missed his first few.

16 minutes as the backup point guard here 7 shots per game

He'll do what the coach wants, but I expect under Vogel his shot attempts will decrease.
