Ding dong....the witch is dead...the wicked witch is dead!!!

Thank the good Lord and whoever REALLY inspired Larry Bird to fire JOB. As good a coach that JOB 'appeared' to be with his SYSTEM, he didn't have the 'common sense' to manage games better nor the common sense on when to substitute nor the common sense on how to develop Pacer young talent (who are obviously MORE superior athletically to the scrubs that were playing major minutes and losing games). I like Frank's attitude and philosophy of playing his young athletic talent because he knows (even if they make mistakes) they'll be playing hard and will make us more athletic on the court. As we all saw, Paul George helped us close out the Raptors when his above-average athleticism (long arms & quickness)

And, you CAN'T tell me that not ACTIVATING Lance Stephenson for the entire season has been good for his development. How many NBA teams do we SEE playing their young studs to give them real game experience which allows them to determine what will work and what will not work against NBA level talent. And, please don't give me the 'defense' argument when you have slow-twitch, one-dimensional, scrubs playing major minutes every night. We all saw Lance's silky smooth jump shot in preseason, his ultra competitive spirit when on the basketball court, and his toughness to go to the rim (knowing he's going to get free throws) whenever the opportunity presented itself.

C'mon Larry.....keep drafting studs but ENSURE your HC will develop and play them. We'd rather watch super athletic players balling and competing at a high level every night than slow-twitch dudes that 'understand the coach's system' but are unathletic, can't defend, can't shoot over 40% most nights, and lose almost every night. Heck, even Danny Granger looks like he's mentally 'given-up' due to all of the LOSING from playing for a FRANCHISE who had a coach that has NO idea on how to develop it's young athletic players. JOB took all of the FUN out of playing basketball for the players and took all of the fun out of watching basketball for the FANS!!!!

Lol, let's get real and be patient. He pushed a girl down a flight of stairs and got caught on tape having a girl tickle his anus. To prevent a PR nightmare, they might want to wait until the whole trial is finished.

EDIT: And this is coming from someone who wants to see him play. Just be willing to wait. This isn't a "Beast unleashed" type of thing here. He's probably our 15th best player, even though I think he's better than most posters do around here.

Young stud? :shakehead

Come on, I'd like to see him get some minutes, but this guy is not going to change the world.

This is the prime example of a guy who can take advantage of practice seasoning while being prepared for a chance on the floor, not a guy who has gone as far as he can go in practice and is being wasted in street clothes.

'Young stud' is obviously only a euphemism meant to describe our young athletic players whether it's Paul George, Lance Stephenson, Darren Collison, Tyler Hansbrough, AJ Price, Brandon Rush, and Josh McRoberts. And, I'm NOT implying that allowing Lance to play will CHANGE the world but he will gain invaluable experience by playing in live games versus practicing against our vets. And, wouldn't you like to know HOW he'd perform in an actual live game against NBA talent?

P.S. And, I would think that he KNOWS the offensive and defensive schemes by now.

I agree, I want to see him play

the main reason is the kid has a tremendous amount of hyper here,

I just want to see if he can deliver,

makes sense

Actually Bill if you recall RWB told us a person on the bench he knows (which both you & I know who that is) actually said that Lance has more talent than anyone on the team, it is all up to him to get mentally right to be able to play.

So in this case young stud might actually be appropriate.

Well that and his obvious acumen for trying to procreat with the young female populace.:D

I'd say getting mentally right is something you show in practice and on the bench in order to get your minutes, not something that follows from getting minutes.

Talent is fine, if you can't use it you end up like Jamaal Tinsley ... wait, was that my outside voice?

The kid has talent, and deserves at least a shot

No one is saying make him a part of the rotation yet, just that he deserves a chance to set foot on an NBA court

I want to see him before the season is over. He did really good in summer league (I know, summer league is basically street ball and he is "Born Ready.") and deserves at least a shot. We aren't punishing anyone but ourselves by sitting him.

The real fun will be what the arena people come up with for Lance when he enters a game on the road:

I Want Candy - Bow Wow Wow
Candy Girl - New Edition
Candy - Cameo
Candy's Room - Bruce Springsteen
The Candy Man - Sammy Davis, Jr.
Hard Candy - Counting Crows
Candy - Iggy Pop

Um, what? I must have missed that

That is fantastic.

I'd like to see him get some minutes here and there if only to keep him on the straight and narrow, and to get him focused. He is obviously a kid who gets bored and goes out and does stupid stuff. Sometimes its good to provide a little bit of the carrot to keep guys inline. When the kid knows he isn't going to play, then he isn't going to mentally prepare to play. Hence scheduling meet ups with hookers after games and stuff.

I feel like the Candy incident is a bit overblown here... Outside of what was posted here, I didn't see anything else about it. Maybe I missed it, but I don't recall seeing it reported anywhere else. I can't imagine it would cause any distractions on the road or on the court.

Hell, did IndyStar even mention it?

Didn't see anything in the paper, but I did hear it mentioned on local sports talk radio.

Hopefully he will get some minutes tonight at the Cavs. I really hope he does; I've been really wanting to see him play. Anyone know if he is active?

Mike Wells said the rest of the team gave Lance a hard time. They were apparently singing "Candy" by Cameo..

Wells also said that they weren't going to punish him for it, but its certainly a strike 2.

I think the whole "Candy" encounter has been overblown too. I mean I highly doubt he's the only guy on the team hiring escorts. It's pretty common in the professional sports.

I think he deserves a chance to get some minutes.

Just who the hell does he think he is? Wilt Chamberlain or Shawn Kemp?

I can't believe anyone actually wants this guy to play. You have to know that the instant he makes himself indispensable to the team he'll go out and do something ridiculous that will get him suspended/traded/incarcerated/castrated/whatever. Haven't we been through enough of that here with Artest/Tinsley/Jackson/O'Neal/Williams/Harrison/etc.?
