i have seen several all-star predictions with Monta Ellis left off the team. I am sorry, but the third leading scorer in the entire NBA has to make the team right? I know that the west is deep, but Ellis should be an automatic bid.

The Warriors system benefits perimeter players like no other. Ellis is a very talented offensive player, but he struggles on defense and has infatuated stats. If the NBDL players they bring up who have success would make it good on another team, I might see him as more talented, but when every NBDL player they bring up, tears it up, then goes to another team and gets buried, its just hard to see.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to knock Ellis. He is one of the best offensive players in the league, but if I'm the West, I want Westbrook, Williams, Kobe, Paul, and even Gordon over Ellis.

My point stands though:

Ellis: 6-24
Jackson: 13-24

Granted, Jackson is a very tall SG, but theres not much Ellis can do defensively against bigger players.

Blake Griffen and Kevin Love better make it

Yao ming's selection ensures that stern will pick whichever one the coaches don't.

I think it would be great for Griffin to start, since the game is in LA.

Sounds like Nash, but on a way worse team than Nash has ever been on.

MVP my ***!

He definitely deserves to make it, but I think he's a bit overrated for MVP.

Nash makes everyone around him better. Thats a big difference. Nash is going to be talked about in HOF discussions.

I think Rudy Gay deserves to make it. Especially for his video.

I agree personally, but I have a feeling some will not.

The only question is whether or not he is a first ballot entry.

And he should and very likely will be.

Rather than create a new thread, I'll just add to this one and see who people think will be the reserves for the all-star game? I figure no Pacers but what the hell.

East: Rondo, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, KG, Bosh, Horford, Boozer (the last spot is really a toss up between lots of injured and underachieving players)

West: Deron Williams, Westbrook, Nash, Duncan, Dirk, Love, Griffin, Gasol, I'm guessing Blake Griffin or Tim Duncan will be Stern's choice to replace Yao in the line-up.

The west is real tough cause you could add in a Ginobili, but I think guard stats are so high that even a guy from a team like the Spurs is gonna get snubbed.
