Knicks Sign Free Agent Bruno Sundov

NEW YORK, September 8, 2004 – New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Isiah Thomas announced today that center Bruno Sundov has been signed to a contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal are not announced.

Sundov, 7-2, 260-pounds, appeared in four games for the Cleveland Cavaliers and one for the Knicks during the 2003-04 season, averaging 2.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 6.6 minutes. The six-year NBA veteran was signed to a 10-day contract on Jan. 21, 2004 by New York. In 81 career games, the Croatian-native has averaged 1.8 points and 1.2 rebounds for the Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Cavaliers and Knicks.

“Bruno will add size and depth to our frontcourt,” Thomas said. “I have monitored his progress throughout his career. We have seen his improvement and feel we are getting him at the right stage of his development.”

If they would only trade for Primoz---

Bruno, Brewer, and Primoz... we could call the New York Knicks the "Hoosier Outhouse"

You know, where Indiana's crap just collects.

Hey, Bruno has almost played a full season now. Only took him six seasons to play 81 games. :unimpressed:

Does Thomas scout players who did not play for him?

oh man, this is SO awesome!. i love it! i said to someone else on another board a while back when he sighned brewer that if isiah wanted to pick up our garbage- it's fine with me. he will find out (but,he should already know) that those guys really suck and will be of no help whatsoever. i suppose it could be argued that at least with brewer, we kept him for so long because we had hopes he could fill out his potential. sundov just plain sucked big time and i thought EVERYONE was fully aware of that. but apparentlyy not. i wonder how long isiah will last. i don't think he is gonna prove to be much better than layden was. and layden was awful.
