Josh would be good to take some lessons from my good friends at Team Flight Brothers:

I think I might have seen Josh do that dunk in the HS contest, actually. I think. Anyone know?

As for the first video, I loved the behind the back-360, the under-both-legs, and the 540-two-hand. Those were great.

On joshcantdunk, the last video in the "Josh TV" playlist at the top (I think) is the 2005 McD's HS dunk contest. He does a few between-the-legs, and he throws the ball behind his back (the same kind of way) and dunks it reverse:

<object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WJemla9Pd38?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0&amp;hd=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WJemla9Pd38?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0&amp;hd=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>

You have to fast-forward to 2:09 for that dunk, but that's the 2005 HS dunk contest, so you can watch the rest of it, including Gerald Green's equally-impressive athleticism.

As for the first video, I loved the behind the back-360, the under-both-legs, and the 540-two-hand. Those were great.

Yeh, TFB is pretty sick-wicked-nasty. The 540 might be my favorite, but the 360 eastbay is always high on my list. And of course, both Dubble-Ups by JusFly are insane (eastbay over person, under-both-legs over person). And the cartwheel!

Basically, teams need to sign James White and some TFB dunkers to 10 days...and enter them in the dunk contest immediately. lol.

They were mesmerized a white guy can jump.

Much in the same way judges were amazed that a short guy can jump (Nate Robinson). Neither should have won, or been there. If I was 5 feet tall and could only do one dunk, I'd probably still win the dunk contest every year.

It's kinda silly.

So is Josh, but he isnt the player that Blake is or the name Blake is. To say Blake got in just on his dunking ability is bull crap. Josh also has the creativity and showmanship to put on this "Josh Cant Dunk" campaign.

Look at Blake's game dunks he leads the league in dunks and has a bunch of Slam dunk contest perfect score worth dunks. I could make an hr montague of Blake's dunks. No offense to Josh he doesnt have as many game dunks that are good. Blake has a sportscenter top play dunk damm near every night. Josh not so much Blake has way better handles and abalitys that make his dunking ablity in a league of it's own in the current NBA . Plus he is an all star level passer and all star level player the kid is one of a kind.
Saying he just got in on the name "Blake" is total BS he is the best dunker in the league this yr i think he was well deserving.

I am going to make my call right now. Blake Griffin will win the contest because he already has won the hype vote by a landslide and the competition is weak. This contest was clearly designed to let him win. But he will disappoint. No real creativity or imagination. Just a guy who can jump really high trying to rip the rim off. It will be just like the LeBron McDonald's All-American game dunk contest.

Not a lot of action in that video for all the buildup. Still a cool concept though and that might be enough to grab enough attention to get him in.

Wow. That video was really, really horrible.

It wasn't horrible, more like it wasn't what we expected from the hype that was floating around. You actually have to really familiar with the movie to appreciate it.

I think a better parody would have included a remake of the dunk scene in the end where they win the 2v2 tournament. Same kind of slow mo camera work as in the movie for the dunk. Then immediately switch into a rapid fire of dunk clips 1-2 seconds a piece.

I saw he tweeted a few times about it.

It is true that, at this point, it is a bit of a long-shot. However, I've heard from several people with very close ties to the NBA, that it is very possible that another Dunk-In is put in play. They also said that Josh would almost definitely be a part of that. If that does happen, he's going to need all the help he can get from you guys. Vote early, vote often.

Plus with Jennings' foot injury, anything can happen. I can't imagine he would be willing to risk further injury if there is any question as to whether or not he is 100% healthy or not.

For now, the more people who spread the word, the better. Give the website tons of hits. Send it to your friends. This thing still has a chance. That's how Shannon Brown got in last year.

Here's what I don't understand: Why would the Bucks front office even allow Jennings to participate in the dunk contest? Considering his injury situation, it seems like an awfully big risk to take. They are definitely going to need him for their eventual playoff push. Why bother with an exhibition, for a guy that is so vital to his team's success, and is already dealing with a substantial injury?

A lot can still happen with regards to the participants in the dunk contest.

http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2011/01/20/jennings-grounded-from-slam-dunk/

MILWAUKEE — Brandon Jennings, the Milwaukee Bucks point guard who has missed 14 games with a fractured fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot, is expected to withdraw as a contestant in the Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star Weekend, NBA.com has learned.

While Jennings is on track to return to the Bucks’ lineup within the next two weeks, the risk of re-injury while practicing for and participating in the dunk contest apparently caused the player and the Bucks to reconsider his involvement, sources said. A league spokesman declined to comment Wednesday and information on Jennings’ likely replacement could not be confirmed.

Jennings, 21, hurt his foot against in an awkward spill at San Antonio on Dec. 15 and struggled to play on it three nights later against Utah. The second-year guard had surgery on Dec. 20, with an expected layoff of four to six weeks. The Bucks, 10-15 when Jennings went down, are 5-9 since.

Jennings said Wednesday after the Bucks’ shootaround that he hopes to return by the end of the month, when the Bucks head to his native southern California to face the L.A. Clippers at the start of a three-game trip. “I’m hoping before we hit L.A. on the 31st,” he said. “So I’m hoping before then. Next week or so, get a couple games in before I leave.”

The Bucks face Atlanta at home on Wednesday, play at Toronto on Jan. 28, then have the Nets at Bradley Center on Jan. 29. In 25 appearances, Jennings averaged 18.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists while shooting 39.1 percent.

From the start, Jennings was an improbable choice to compete in the Slam Dunk event on Feb. 19 at All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. He was the lone guard selected in the field of four that includes the Clippers’ Blake Griffin, Oklahoma City’s Serge Ibaka and Washington’s JaVale McGee. Also, he hardly is known as a dunker.

“I don’t sell Brandon short but I believe he has two dunks and Blake has 96 or something,” Bucks coach Scott Skiles said recently. “I don’t know how those decisions are made. … I have seen Brandon alone in a gym do some dunks that are pretty impressive. Small guys tend to get more accolades in those things anyway.”

Skiles had said that he was fine with Jennings competing, if healthy. But with the Bucks beset with injuries this season and stalled in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings, losing their point guard to another layoff – thanks to an exhibition event – would be a tough sell to Milwaukee fans.

Jennings, who stayed on the court for extra shooting ut has avoided any running or cutting on the court, did not address his participation directly Wednesday morning. But he did not sound that enthused. “It’s an honor but it’s not a thing that’s really mandatory for me right now,” Jennings said. “Mandatory for me is trying to get back on the court and help the team. So that’s my No. 1 priority.”
