We are a couple games from the end of what I feel is the clearly the toughest stretch of our schedule. I will save my opinions for another post however I wanted to create a pole to see where people stand

50% chance.

Either we do, or we don't.

I am waiting to vote until 11:11 1/11/2011 just to be a dork.

Can someone edit this title, can I? Chance should be Odds

That's not fair. By November anyone could do a simple Google search and answer it.

about 50/50. there are more 'winnable' games than 'loseable' games left in the season. enough to make up the difference. given that they will win some games they should lose and lose some games they should win, they have a fairly even chance of pulling it off. even higher chance if they end the season with the usual late push.

but there is little margin for bad play. it is much easier to lose winable games than win loseable games.

by november, hopefully no one will care about this season. either they will be :censored:ing about the new free agent PF or wondering if there is ever going to be basketball again.

I'm cool with whatever, as long as we aren't still *****ing about this guy as head coach of the Indiana Pacers:

I think we'll get back. We always get that spurt of wins at the end of the season, and it doesn't even really matter because this year even 36 wins will get us an eighth seed.

But if we get to .500 that will be better.

25%, and that's with optimism.

I'm really thinking nil, but to be optomistic, I put 25%. I think the hole's too deep and gonna get deeper.

i asked steve kyler and heres his response

mike in indy:
pacers get above .500 at the end of the month?

Steve Kyler:
No... they'd have to run the table which they will no do.

They are @Dallas, host Chicago, @the Clippers, @Golden State, @Portland, @Denver, host Orlando, host New Jersey, @Chicago and host Toronto.

They could go 5-5 over this stretch, but that's a tough stretch.

So you're saying there's a chance...

They wouldn't have to "run the table" (that means they would have to go 10-0, Steve) but they would have to go 8-2.

Since 1% is not an option, I selected 10%. If everything falls into place, I can see us making another late-season run to get close to .500, but not over.

100% because next October we will start out 0-0

I say there is a 75% chance that by the end of February they'll be back at .500. They still have a lot of winnable games left in the season. It all depends on how long O'Brien sticks with the current starting 5 and rotation. I think the rotation in place now gives them a much better chance at winning

0-0 is .000, not .500.

Yeah but I bet we win one of our first two games next season.

We're only 5 games below .500 and this is a decent .500 or higher team so hopefully they get out the month+ slump.

Even though we played one of our easier games last night, the team was playing well offensively like they did earlier in the season.

Why so much doom and gloom? This is our hardest stretch of the year, and we still almost beat the spurs and knicks just recently. We do a much better job of winning the games we should this year, I think it's 75 percent were back up to .500 at some point. The schedule is not always going to be so brutal.

'm just not seeing it. All I see is this team trying to do what it's done for the last 2 seasons and that isn't conducive to winning basketball.

0%... We're just not that good of a team.

As Bill Parcells said, "You are what your record says you are!"

I want to be wrong because I'm optimistic in nature!

Records change and teams improve. Comparing our record to football is like giving up on a 3-4 NFL team(a 7-9 team just won a game/series in the playoffs). I also want to bump this.

Like an 8th seed knocking off a 1 seed in the playoffs, yeah it can happen but it is easily the exception... Hardly the rule!

Wow. I thought I was being very optimistic at 10%.
