I'm sure you've all seen it, but now that Zo has the go-ahead from his doctors, what do you think? It gives the Pacer's a great big that contribute a lot come playoff time and give NJ a contract that expires a year shorter than Zo. Would you like to see Zo in a Pacer's uni?

Indiana trades: C Scot Pollard (1.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.1 minutes)
Indiana receives: C Alonzo Mourning (8.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 17.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +6.3 ppg, -0.4 rpg, and +0.5 apg.

New Jersey trades: C Alonzo Mourning (8.0 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.7 apg in 17.9 minutes)
New Jersey receives: C Scot Pollard (1.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 61 games)
Change in team outlook: -6.3 ppg, +0.4 rpg, and -0.5 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Indiana and New Jersey being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Indiana and New Jersey had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

One thing you really need to do is not title your trade idea threads as if they're a legit rumor. If it's something you made on RealGM, say it's your idea, not a "Possible trade". Thanks.

Hey, I'll get it eventually. Thanks for putting up w/ me.

But Hicks, what do you think of it? Try to look past the bad title.

I like it, actually. Pollard gets a run-and-gun offense to be a part of, and we get a locker-room presence, a teacher, and (if healthy) the best player in the deal.

The difficulty is that Zo has a worse contract and he's not even assured to be available. Jersey would have to throw something in for it to be an even trade, IMO.

EDIT: I'd also like to see Harrison and Zo work out for a year. Could be the best thing in the world for Harrison.

We need to pull the trigger on this one. We'll be over the cap for several more years, so taking on a slightly worse contract isn't all bad.

Its not a terrible trade, but I really doubt Zo can ever play in the NBA again... his kidney problems won't go away.

From a $$$ standpoint, its just going to add to the owner's payroll. You're not going to convince an owner to shell out EXTRA millions per year for a "locker-room presence." No way does donnie get the ok on this.

As I said above, there's no question it needs sweeetening.

But Anthony Johnson is a "locker room presence." Alonzo Mourning is, to put it lightly, a couple of steps up from there.

I believe somebody <ahem> proposed this idea a few weeks ago. But, it's still a good one.

Ya Indygeezer, I'm not taking credit for your idea at all, I just thought I'd bring it up again since no one had been talking about it even though Zo has the OK from the doc now.
