Okay, it's time for another exciting edition of preseason football. Whoo hoo.

Game Time: 7:00 (EST)
TV Coverage: WB4

The first stringers should be in the game until at least part of the third quarter. This should be more fun than any other preseason edition of the Ponies.

Brad Pyatt just came up somewhat lame after the opening kickoff. Bah.

obnoxiousmodesty
08-28-2004, 08:10 PM
Dallas Clark had a nice reception for a first down.

The officials just screwed Dominic James out of a great run with a phantom holding call. :unimpressed:

Dominic just ran over a handful of defenders for a nice gain... third and one from the Colts' 45...

Penalty on the Ponies... ugh.

Is it just me or is the color just awful on WB4?

obnoxiousmodesty
08-28-2004, 08:13 PM
Wow, the punter the Colts brought in just launched a great one...

WB4 has always been horrible, just horrible, covering football. I wasn't watching until now, I've been watching ESPN2 as they go "behind-the-scenes" of the USC game on ESPN...Pretty neat.

MSA2CF
08-28-2004, 08:14 PM
Who was the punter, obby?

obnoxiousmodesty
08-28-2004, 08:17 PM
Sorry, I can't properly spell the punter's name.. starts with an 'F'; he's a rookie out of Eastern Washington.

Oh look, the Colts couldn't score on 1st and Goal from the 5 yard line. :unimpressed:

Vandy FG, Colts lead 3-0.

Lord Helmet

DK hasn't lived up to what the Colts wanted.Bills are now on the Colt 41.

obnoxiousmodesty
08-28-2004, 08:31 PM
Why do they have another Punter??

I think it's just because Hunter still has a tender groin and they don't want Vandy punting all game again.

08-28-2004, 08:34 PM
The Colts defense gets another stop. The offense will take over from their own 13.

obnoxiousmodesty
08-28-2004, 08:45 PM
Edge just decided not to play I guess. He hates the preseason. As for the starters, they should be in until the third quarter.

The punter's name is Nicossio, I believe. He's launched two punts of 44 and 45 yards. Someone'll pick him up after we let him go if he keeps that up.

DK will be kicking off for the remainder of the game. Let's see if he can get anything going.

At the end of the 1st, Colts lead 10-0.

Buffalo has been putting up a nice drive.... but on 3rd and 3 from the Colts 15, Bledsoe is sacked! Looks like Freeney and/or Harper got to him.

Buffalo settles for a FG.

The Bills had a first down at the Colts' 35, now they're at their own 40 after a botched snap and a penalty. Yay for 2nd and 35.

Time for the Bills to punt.

Yeah, our run defense has started to give up big runs after initially doing a great job. They had McGahee shut down in the 1st quarter, but now he's gaining 6+ yards on every run. :irked:

On the Buf punt return we are lucky he got tripped up.We need a consistent run D.

obnoxiousmodesty
08-28-2004, 09:32 PM
Wow, the Colts gained a massive 4 yards. Time to punt.

Nicossio punts another great one back inside the Buffalo 10 (52 yards), but the coverage sucks. Buffalo will begin at their own 36.

obnoxiousmodesty
08-28-2004, 09:35 PM
For some reason the officials just put a second back on the clock. Super, now the Bills have a chance to kick a 49 yard FG.

FG misses wide right. 20-10 Colts at the half.

FIRST HALF OBSERVATIONS:

1. This punter Nicossio needs to be picked up by someone the second he's cut by the Colts. His average is in the high 40s.

2. After a great first quarter, the Colts run defense was porous in the 2nd quarter. McGahee gained huge chunks of yards on almost every play.

3. The Ponies defense can't sniff out a screen pass. Buffalo has gone to it effectively (10+ yard gains) on at least two occasions.

4. Dominic Rhodes is out there doing it all. He's shown speed, strength, and endurance. Impressive first half.

5. The Colt pass defense has been average. No big plays given up yet, but Buffalo receivers are open under the zone.

KEY INJURIES: Brad Pyatt (leg); James Mungro (arm)

DK kicked off to the 9. The first one inside the 10 he's done, I believe. Yay.

Buffalo and Indy exhange crappy possessions to start the 2nd half. Buffalo's second possession of the quarter will begin at their own 30.

..and now we're on offense...

Nice catch by Pollard over the middle! Oh joy, Dominic fumbles but gets the ball back. Quit it with the butter fingers!

obnoxiousmodesty
08-28-2004, 10:21 PM
Peyton was whacked as he threw the ball. Intercepted at the goal line.

Buffalo has 1st and 10 at their own 23. Bledsoe is done for the night.

MIKE DOSS INTERCEPTS THE PASS! What a crazy sequence.
