Knicks Sign Jamison Brewer 08/27
3:07 PM
New York Knicks president Isiah Thomas announced today that free-agent guard Jamison Brewer has been signed to a contract.

Brewer, 6-4, 180-pounds, played in 13 games last season for the Indiana Pacers, averaging 2.5 points and 1.3 assists in 12.3 minutes.

He is a three-year player who has averaged 1.6 points, 1.2 assists and 7.9 minutes over 36 career games.

“The addition of Jamison to our roster helps solidify our backcourt,” Thomas said. “He is a great passer and defender with outstanding speed and quickness.” :o

LOL, good luck on the bench with the Knicks. It's a good thing for Brewer to get a contract with somebody as the Pacers weren't going to give him one.

It's about time the Brewer experiment ended

This is actually a good pickup for us if we use him right - he's the best defender at guard we have though I think Marbury and Crawford can both be good - they just aren't.

Besides, you can never go wrong with big hair ...

One of the things that my wife noticed during the season ticket holder tour was in the Pacers locker...their was a Stall for R. Wright and E. Gill, but not one with Brewer's name on it. Hmm....maybe he isn't comming back?!?

I guess not seeing Brewer's name on a locker last night might have been a little telling! R. Wright has a locker stall and he has no gurantee of making the team!

Brewer huh?

Not quite the Vince Carter or Dampier or,or, or any of the other miriad of NAMES coming that have been trumpeted by the NY papers this summer. But it's someone I guess.

What are you talking about geez, the Knicks just signed the man to lead them to the promised land, Jesus.

edit: Oops, misplaced modifier. :tsk: I should know better. The way I have it written, Jesus is the name of the promised land. :shakehead: But you all know what I meant, verdad?

You know the first time we play NY, he's gonna be begging Lenny to put him in, cause we all know it's not hard to shut down Tinsley. Of course, he'd have to be on the active roster, first.

But, you know, this might be the perfect place for him. New Yorkers appreciate good fashion sense. He'll become the team's mascot for sure.

Also, I just realized I better preemptively set the record straight. Before everyone starts saying that Brewer was one of Isiah's "guys" and that's why he never panned out, it was widely reported at the time that Donnie had targeted Jamison early as the man he wanted, since the opportunity to get Jamaal didn't present itself till draft night when he fell down so low.

No, he's not a passer, but Rim's right, he's a better defender than Marbury or Crawford. But then, that's not hard to do, so maybe I should say he's a much better defender than Marbury or Crawford.

Hopefully he'll catch on. Wonder if he gets to take his theme song with him? :p

"Last Monday, Artest — who was talking about the changes his Pacers were undergoing — mentioned losing "their best point guard" in Brewer. Artest's remark raised eyebrows, since Brewer was the Pacers' fourth-stringer behind Jamaal Tinsley, Anthony Johnson and Kenny Anderson."
