Hickson and Josh should be a nice matchup as well as Collison on Mo Williams if he plays.

What's the over-under on Hibbert getting less than 25 minutes tonight? Cleveland goes small ball, we pull our bigs to match up and promptly get beaten.

LOVE that Cavs-Pacers replay video.

Cleveland sans Lebron so far hasn't been the massive 15 win epic fail I thought it would be. They probably won't make the playoffs, but they're about equal to us right now.

BringJackBack

It mostly has to do with the players knowing their roles and having a coach that has common sense. He does things that work and he plays to the player's strengths.

I wholly expect us to lose this game. I wish I didn't have such a negative outlook on this team.

11-13-2010, 07:12 PM
Daniel Gibson has been nice in their second unit. He's undersized but a fairly good shooter who gets some good looks. His ppg is way up this year with Lebron gone but he is shooting at roughly the same percentage.

I'm guessing the Pacers win this game, but not by much. If we lose this one, we're pretty hopeless for this year. That is not a slight on Cleveland, but you've got to beat division teams about equal to you rather at home or on the road every time to make the playoffs.

BringJackBack
11-13-2010, 07:13 PM
Me too, cdash. If we win it will be a nice suprise that will make my week and if we lose than I won't be too upset as opposed to the Bucks and Houston games.

What would your opinion be on the team if we traded Jim O'Brien for Rick Adelman or Byron Scott, and James and Mike didn't exist? Just curious.

Iactually agree with JOB. We need to pass the ball more like we did against Denver.

37 assists vs. Denver and 20 assists vs. Houston.

I like the matchups tonight.

I think Danny will have a huge advantage at SF. I'm expecting him to finish with a lot of points.

I'll be more excited about the team, having a young team and see them grow is nice, but when you have a coach that hates to play the young guys and still lose is irritating.

I think Danny will have a huge advantage at SF. I'm expecting him to finish with a lot of points.

The thing that's weird though, the better the players that are guarding him, the better games Danny usually has. He usually doesn't play great against guys like Jamario Moon, Corey Maggete, Andres Nocioni, or Shane Battier (but Shanes a very very good defender). However when he plays very good to great players he plays his hardest and best.

Thats a good sign I guess for when we are a playoff team.

OT: Are you supposed to capitalize the "P" in playoffs?

Granger can hit that mid range J whenever he wants. I don't know why he only uses it 2 or 3 times a game.

It's because he usually can't get too the midrange area, he should sore 40 pts tonight against this D-league team cavs, I mean without their two best players its kind of a joke.

I hope nobody gets overly excited about Granger after tonights game, because he is doing exactly what he should be doing...dominating. The CAVS wing players are pretty terrible.

Regardless, I hope we win because this game is basically a freebie.

Plus as was just pointed out Cavs bench has been great so far this year.

Seems like that is a team stat to me.

There are a lot of things to give Danny a hard time about disappearing in big moments isn't one of them IMO. No one's saying he can carry a team by himself, but he does play his roll pretty well. We just need to continue building a complete team.

I'm not. He sets very good screens but he hasn't been playing good offense I will admit.

He needs to get out on fast breaks. But to do that we need fast break opputunities off of defensive stops. Which we need defensive stops to do that.

I'm sorry, I can't stand watching Dunleavy play. What a terrible offensive player. He gives you two or three pretty plays a game to try and make you feel like he's talented, but in reality he's just a chucker. He's JR Smith only instead of explosive dunks, he gives you one or two backdoor cuts a game to try and make you feel like there is more to his game, but he's really just a chucker.

idioteque
11-13-2010, 08:07 PM
Yeah, look at the way the Cavs run an offense compared to the Pacers. Night and day. Byron Scott is a fairly decent coach, his presence there keeps that team from falling (for now) into mediocre franchise hell when Jim O'Brien type guys are the only ones out there willing to coach you because of your lack of talent. The vicious cycle then ensues.

I guess we can agree with this.

Well last year he put up 36 on the Cavs in Cleveland, for all of those saying he can't do it agianst good teams.

Ah, I agree Granger is a high-level scorer who doesn't need sub-par defenders to go off.

But Cleveland was good defensively last season (and during LeBron's stay). This season they've been bad - they don't have the horses to be a good defensive team any more.

They had 3 excellent defenders in a sea of mediocre and horrible defenders. So, they were still able to be respectable, even if not elite as they used to be in the previous seasons.

They lost 2 of those 3 superior defenders - LeBron James and Delonte West - and replaced them with some more horrible defenders (Sessions, Hollins).

why the hell was he drafted 3rd overall??

He was an incredibly impressive college player and people fell in love with his "versatility" great passer, great ball handler (in college mind you), and a good shooter. Plus he had great size for a wing player. Also he played for Duke which means he was on ESPN constantly.

Dunleavy just seems to be shooting well in the 3rd quarter as of late. Of course everyone shot well in the Denver game but he shot well in the 3rd last night as well. His 2 shots to open up the 3rd tonight are encouraging.

That's what I don't get.

He's not going to play a minute for us until we either trade TJ and one of AJ or Darren is hurt. Or if a huge chunk of our wings are hurt (because he's last on the depth there..and that means he's behind..Granger, DJones, Rush, Dun, George, and Posey)..so...send him to the D-League

I'm interested to see him. I'd like for him to dress and get some garbage minutes just to see how good or bad he really is.

I still don't know why we don't ship him to the D-League. It kills me. This is a guy who needs to get some game experience. We have that resource available to us. He is not going to play on our NBA team. What is the problem here?

The D-League season hasn't started yet - they're starting practices and exhibition games now and next week. So, NBA teams haven't started assigning players yet. The only assignment so far is Patterson and it was just an announcement, he'll only start practising with the Vipers next Thursday. No other has team announced assignments, way too early.

I agree with you guys.

Rush's suspension seems to have kicked his *** a little and lit some fire.

Mike's new knee seems to have given him the strength to want to lead the league in threes.

IRL, this game seems like a maintain-our-poise-and-we-should-have-it-handled kind of game. Can't turn it over more than they do though.

I guess that explains that then. Still, I can't remember the Pacers ever really utilizing their D-League affiliate. Hopefully that changes this year. I'd really like to see Lance get some game time.
