View Full Version : IndyCornrows has a nice write-up on Josh's evening

Includes a (surprisingly long) list of his positive contributions in the third quarter, where he didn't hit a shot.

Josh McRoberts played the whole third quarter for the Indiana Pacers last night, but didn't score one of the 54 points the team put on the board. In fact he only took one shot.

You may have heard about that one. It was the only miss of the quarter, an ill-advised 3-ball before the buzzer sounded which broke up a streak of 20 straight shots made by the home team.

McRoberts heard about it, believe me. Because the miss was irrelevant to the game's outcome and simply part of an exciting basketball moment, much of the grief McRoberts has endured has been of the good-natured ribbing variety.

But that third quarter performance drew national attention from every media outlet interested in the NBA. Whatever highlights were shown or story was written, they all ended with the McRoberts miss and a little dig.

I REALLY enjoy (ok, I flippin LOVE it) having guys like Josh and Tyler on the team.
Not only do they do all the hustle plays and the little things that don't show up in the stats but just help your team win, but they AREN"T just big white stiffs making it on hustle and grit.
They are both very athletic white guys that will stuff in your face and out hustle you. ;)

One thing's for sure, should there ever be another scoring run like that for this team and JMac's on the floor, he won't miss that shot the next time the ball's passed to him.

As I've been saying numerous times this season, Josh does many things that don't show up on the stat sheet. Thanks to Cornrows for going through and detailing all the little things he did in that quarter.

I love Josh. I don't care if he or Tyler starts, I just want both of them getting at least 20 mins a game. I dont want solo to ever dress for another Pacer game. He is an embarrassment to the organization.

The team has been without a 'glue' player for awhile. If Josh is willing to be that player - sacrificing stats for the team, and doing the little things... he deserves credit like these types of articles.

Missing that shot though made all that irrelavent.
