You guys were outstanding! Well, other than that jerk in the blue (I think) shirt with the pom pom hanging from his hat... what was his deal??? Chanting M-V-P while Danny was shooting free throws? What was that all about? I still can't believe he had the nerve to stand up all game, while yelling as loud as he could.... like that's what Roy got the tickets for. I was under the impression that it should be 55 calm "fans" who just stand up all game and cheer when something good happens.

Also, forget about the Darko Polo chant or the DE-FENSE chant or the fact that a representative wanted to film a 30 second clip with that jerk in the blue (I think) shirt... he was still a jerk. He had no right to be as loud as he possibly could. It's just not right.

Also, his fatheads are lame

Although, I cracked up on the Left-Right-Left-Right-Left-Right chant. Hilarious.

You should be able to be as loud as you want. Wish I could have made it tonight, from the looks of the "first half video" on nba.com it seems like the place was empty. How was the Area55 crowd? How did the chants go? Any good ones? Did we continue to do the 4 syllable clap clap clap clap chant?

I thought the idea that Roy had was to create a crazy/loud environment. Isn't that what they rewarded in the audition videos? I thought crazy fans was the intent.

I don't know if the guy in blue is the same guy I'm thinking of, but there's a guy in area 55 that I'm not sure about.

I was at the opening preseason game and I believe he was wearing yellow, and everyone was trying to get away from him. At least that's what it appeared like from my viewpoint.

It was the same guy that was at a home game against the Bulls last year in Feb. I remember b/c we had just gotten back from the Super Bowl in Miami and had Row 1 club level tickets. Well me and my g/f show up and there's 4 guys in our seats. Not a big deal, there were plenty of seats open so we sat in row 3 behind them.

3 of the guys were fine, but one was annoying as h$!!. He wreaked of alcohol and yelled, screamed and dance the entire game just trying to get on the TV/Jumbotron. His friends were totally embarrassed, but put up with him.

I remember him from that night and I know he had on yellow during the Magic games and folks were moving away from him. I saw like the last 6 minutes on TV tonight and they showed him and I think he had something on his head tonight.

I have nothing against the guy, but I think he could tone it down a bit if we're talking about the same guy?

He was the Area 55 guy with his face painted like a basketball. Was there only one of them?

The too much for you chant i thought they were saying We are IU. I was so confused because that would make no sense. My buddy and I got tix to move down to area 55 and for those that wondered about being behind the fat heads.... It sucked. We went back to our normal seats where I can like the fat heads :) I dig the fat heads, just not being behind them. And it was an excuse to go back to our seats.

From what I remember that guy gave you the fathead that you were holding up all game. And he probably wanted to go back to the balcony because Area 55 is "weak." You were there... Roy has to feel let down. I don't have twitter but if I did I would ask the big fella if it's acceptable to chant "MVP" during Granger's free throws or "A55" during Roy's. Also, I was 2 rows behind this "jerk" and he was the only one yelling all game long... he probably just got sick and tired of everybody else thinking they knew what was best. I didn't have a problem with him nor do I think he was out of line. I just hope he actually comes back and not to the balcony. We need him

The PTO is seeking Area 55 members to join in a preseason rehersal for our home opener in 2 weeks time. Tailgate for the Pacers before watching us reignite our old eastern conference rivalry Friday night against the Hornets!
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=147144471990

I thought we all had a better time tonight. We all got to stand together, our chants were catching on. We just couldnt get the 'defense' chant to be on sync with the PA beat, that will be an easy fix. Come on out and tailgate friday night, and see if we cant make this in to something before too long!

Top 5 things I got from tonight:

1. We need to slow down "DEFENSE" to match the audio when it's playing. We were way too fast and then couldn't hear it.

2. It's OK to be as loud and crazy as possible at anytime except during a Pacers free throw.

3. We somehow need to enunciate better.

4. The awesome fat heads should try to be down when the ball is on the court.

5. We need more people, more crazy fans and free beer for all.

I'm sure this isn't just a Uconn chant, but it was hilarious.

We did this at Uconn women's games, when it was a blowout. But I think it could work regardless, you guys are near the basket right?

When the opposing team is playing offense near the basket your on..you

Chant "BOINK" every time they dribble the ball. "PASS" every time they pass the ball. "CLANK" every time they shoot the ball. And "UGHHHHH" (Just keep your voice going uhhhhhhhhhhhh until they do something with it.) every time they just hold onto the ball.

Sounds odd but it's actually a really funny chant. It annoys the other team too. :D

The "uggghhh" or "ooooooooooooooohhh" is something we did when I was in highschool the whole time the defense had the ball.

We actually had a write up in the WAPO my senior year and were compared to the Cameron Crazies.

Also, if being in synch is a problem it may help to simplify the chants, and I agree with TJ, look at soccer crowds. Those guys are amazing. Then again, they also get free beer (normally $5 a head for the bus ride, but still) before the game, so that helps.

Soccer is free flowing as well, chant through the dead balls, the only thing that should interrupt chanting is a free throw from our own player.

If we're loud enough, we won't need no stinkin audio help for the DE-FENSE chant! We'll have to get with the guy/girl doing the audio and tell him/her to just ditch that tune... a couple people in the Area are loud enough for everybody else in the arena to follow along without training wheels.

You'll never be able to talk me out of not chanting "M-V-P" when our best player is at the free throw line late in the 4th quarter, but whatever, for the sake of Area 55 I'll keep my mouth shut.

I think the enunciating would be easier if everybody was loud. When 4-5 people are trying like hell to make Roy proud, their vocal chords tend to get weak. How do I use my diaphragm?

We only hold up the fatheads during dead balls, but somebody didn't get the memo last night. We live and we learn, hopefully it won't happen again.

I was hoping to light a fire under some asses by saying the balcony was better than Area 55, because like I've said... it's depressing. Yet, I still have fun and I still have faith that we'll be able to make this work. It would be nice if 55 people would actually show up.

This. Our sparsely populated section looks pathetic. We really need to ditch section 102 and bring everyone to one spot.

And I am down for some pregame tailgating. I know a couple people said more beer might not be the answer, but I have to disagree with that. Last night, things were pretty subdued until the beer started flowing and everyone lowered their inhibitions a bit. :buddies:

Anyway, good effort by everyone. I am really looking forward to Friday. We got any chants for the Hornets yet?

I LOVE Area 55, it was a great idea. I thought you guys were not as loud at the Minny game and were harder to understand.

The Orlando game was great, I loved the "Can't Shoot Freethrows" and "In Your Head" chant. Made a otherwise bad game more enjoyable. You guys need some more clever chants like that.

Keep up the good work, LOUD and PROUD!
