If we don't win this one, I think it will be time to be worried and not be criticized for being reactionary. I expect we will win. Better effort on display at home after last weeks defensive debacle, but also don't think KC is that great. Improved? Definitely. Ready to pounce on a 3-0 start and maintain? Don't think so. Well, let's see what happens.

KC has a ton of athletes. They may not be "for real", but they're a ten win team IMO. Charles and McCluster are both guys that could absolutely torch our D today.

Scott Pioli picking players, Charlie Weis running the offense, Romeo Crennel running the defense... where have we heard this before? Patriots West.

Heading to the game... going to be a good one for us, I think.

38-21 Colts.

Hayden has been TERRIBLE this year.

It's only a matter of time before KC breaks one of these runs to the house.

I just don't think the Colts are very good this year. Far to many injuries, bad play by both lines, TONS of dumb penalties.

My God just knee the damn ball if you aren't going to get to the 20 at least. Christ.

Boy, the Colts are extremely lucky that KC is just as inept offensively as they are today. You have to figure that one of these teams will get something going on offense before the game is over.

I think after this season you've really start questioning Polian. His draft picks the last few years have been very questionable. Not to mention his complete lack of ability to put a line on either side of the ball together.

travmil
10-10-2010, 03:31 PM
This looks like the Colts playing against the Pats circa 2004. Seriously, it's exactly like that. Remember in those days the Colts would absolutely destroy everyone they came up against and then looked like a pop warner team across from the Pats. They couldn't do anything on offense against those teams and it looks exactly the same here.

I predict a pink slip for Kenny Moore. doesn't know when to fair catch, doesn't know when to take a knee, can't do anything in the situations where you don't do either.

Why was the roof closed?

Lord Helmet

Why was the roof closed?
Official explanation was that it was 80 degrees out and they wanted to get the weather controlled at the pleasant 72 or so degrees they usually keep it at.

At least that's what was said on TV.

No offense what is there to say it was a rather ugly game a bunch of FGs and a TD by Hart(the only highlight) but we won a game we were supposed to win and were favored heavily to do. I rather take an ugly win than a "nice" loss. However we knew that the defense tends to show up at home its on the road that leaves a lot to be desired.

The Chiefs are about a year or so away from actually making real noise I mean I expected it to be close after all Romeo Crennel knows Manning very well.

However I can't say I found this game to be encouraging with the Colts moving forward.

Why was the roof closed?

That was the first thing that popped into my mind when I got to Lucas today. Let me get this straight: It's an unseasonably warm beautiful October day in the 80's with abundant sunshine as far as the eye can see, yet you leave the roof closed? Why did Irsay demand we shell out 75 extra mil for a roof that we don't even open on the most beautiful of days? I guess it's easy to be reckless with money when it's the taxpayer's and not your own.

Our next home game is a Monday Night game against Houston on November 1. God knows that evening will probably be way too cool to have it open by Colt standards, so it looks like we will have an open roof for a whopping one game this season. That's an excellent return on a 75 million dollar investment.

We've always known there was no way it would be open in the cold, but all of the sudden an October day is TOO HOT? If it's not a perfect 72 degrees outside then forget about opening it I guess. Anything else is either too hot or too cold. The roof accounts for 10% of the stadium cost and through three years it's abundantly clear that it was a massive waste of money. But at least it's open for the Peyback bowl every year!

What is with teams doing stupid things when they play the Colts? You can maybe make an argument about getting tricky on an opening kickoff... although I think that is dumb... But whatever. But when you know the Colts are vulnerable to the run and it's looking like you probably can eat a lot of clock in the game... Don't waste opportunities in the red zone. Take the FG unless it's 4th and inches.
A: You give the defense a victory
B: You take pressure off the Colts' offense by not putting points on the board.

Oh well... The Colts just seem to be in some teams' heads and they overthink the game.

I stand by my prediction that in the next couple of years it will never be open. What a total waste of money that was. What difference does that retractable roof make in ticket sales? Is there a money making event that requires an open roof that justifies the expense?

Didn't they even say that if there's ANY chance of rain the roof won't be open due to a lack of drainage to handle rain on the field? So it's not like it's a hedge for the future for when/if a future team turns from a speed and passing team to a ground it out team and they'd want to use the cold/wet weather as an advantage.

You nailed it... Things like a retractable roof are easy to add to a sports palace if it's the taxpayers footing the bill.
