As we have for several years now we will be collecting the predictions of people who feel so inclined to do so of the up coming season.

Now we don't just pick the Pacers standing here, no sir.

We want you to give us your prediction for the entire league, by division & conference.

But wait there's more, we will also be collecting prognostications of Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, M.V.P., M.I.P., D.P.O.Y., G.M. of the year well basically all of the associations awards.

Also we will get your ideas of who will lead the league in scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, steals, etc.

This would be a great bargain in and of itself but wait there's more.

We also want predictions on Pacers awards.

M.V.P. of the team, M.I.P. of the team, R.O.Y. of the team, who will lead the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, etc.

So put your thinking hats on and we will kick this thread off officially Friday the 15 of October 2010.

I hate it when people use icons. Do you think everyone knows what every icon stands for at a glance like they do a printed name? Sure you can figure it out, but it's not user friendly.

FLOX's GRAND PROCLAMATIONS FOR THE YEAR TWOTHOUSAND and TENITH.

1: Our rebounding will be worse without Troy Murphy- our rebounding rate and overall rebounds will drop. It will hurt us a lot.

2: Darren Collison at most will signify a minimal upgrade in the point guard position and will not be as effective as most people think. By the middle of the season, there will be a point guard controversy with AJ, TJ, and DC as he struggles to fit with the team, only averaging 13 points and 5 assists..

3: Our overall team effort this year will be better, but there will still be a large lack of wins mainly due to too many young players and a lack of talent.

4: Dunleavy will have a break out year this year- which will lead to us flipping him midseason for a small asset.

5: TJ Ford will be better than most people expect- playing the backup point and doing well- and while people will complain about what he does he'll still put up good numbers and be a generally good point guard.

6: By the end of the year, assuming Dunleavy is gone and Rush is finally given up upon, we will see a large dose of Born Ready and George at the 2/3.

7: Our overall record this year will be around 35 wins, as we beat up on teams near the end of the season and ride a wave of positive energy for the next year

8: Next season, Bird and O'Brien will be back with the team, with both getting extensions near the middle of the season for one more year- as they are given the right to have at least one year with the keys in the kingdom and with the rebuilding process finally done.

9: My draft accountability challenge pick Xavier Henry will make the Rookie/Soph all star game playing well next to OJ Mayo and Conley! Paul George, however, will not make that game.

Pacers win 43 games and get the 8th seed in the playoffs, where, barring horrific late injuries to one or two superstars, they lose to the miami heat, but steal a game!

Will edit to add more later

My predictions are:

1) Once again no playoffs this year, they would also win less games 20/25 games.

2) Dunleavy is not going to average more than 10 points a game and is not going to be the same Dunleavy from three years ago, in fact he is going to be the same guy we saw last year.

3) JOB would get fired in the middle of the season, the record is going to be so bad that it would make Larry Bird to finally make the call and cut him, giving the assistant coach the rest of the season to play the youngsters.

4) Foster is not going to be back to his old self either, he is not going to average more than 5 reb per game.

5) Collison is going to be what we expected, but his game is not going to be enough for the pacers to get the wins they need.

6) Danny would be the usual Danny, I think his numbers are going to go down a bit(because of Collison)

7) The easter Conference Finalls is going to be Miami/Celtics and in the West Lakers/Thunder

I will come back with more predictions later :D

Josh McRoberts (yea that's right I said it)

I ran into Walter McCarty and he told me this same thing about 6 weeks ago. I didn't put much stock into it at the time but I could see it because of the huge increase in opportunity.

Ok so you
A. Think the pacers have massively overachieved for two years (reflecting positively on jobs coaching)

Or
B. You think that troy was such an important and awesome talent that we are ten winsor more worse without him.

Neither of which sound like.you. are you counting on injuries or something?

Nope, I'm counting on JOB and for him to lose the team(players no playing for him) I'm also counting in Dunleavy starting and making the team worse, this is Josh 1st year playing more than 10 games so I don't expect much from him, this is Collisons second year so we like it or not he is still learning, the other reasons for my record is having young players with not enough NBA experience (not that I don't like that).

James Posey is going to help to get some loses when JOB use him as the stretch forward he had in Troy.

I'll make a couple of predictions:

- Josh McRoberts will play 30 mpg and be a key piece this year.

- Tyler will average over 15 ppg.

- Lance will carve out a role the second half of the year as a Vinnie Johnson "Microwave" type sub, averaging around 12 ppg in 15 minutes of play.

- Dun will be our primary 2 guard.

- We will see a unique team chemistry, as nearly every one of our players can pass well, and is willing to pass.

- Collison will take over as team leader, and will be just as reliable as Granger in the last seconds of a game.

- JOB will coach the entire year. 50 percent chance he is hired again.

I think the Pacers win 43 games, good enough for the 7th seed. They will face off with Orlando in a surprisingly competitive series that ends up with Orlando winning in 6 games. One more thing...

1: Our rebounding will be worse without Troy Murphy- our rebounding rate and overall rebounds will drop. It will hurt us a lot.

The Pacers will be fired up and they will not expirience any serious injuries. They will go on a winning streak and JOB will be forced to play the young guys by Bird and they will do great in their new roles. Although JOB will be coach of the year he will still be let go by bird and Bird will call up Bill Walton to coach the team. James posey and foster will be the only long time vets on the team after the season. Pacers will go 52-30

The injury bug continues. Danny misses 30+ games with feet related injuries. With that Dunleavy is put into his role and averages 17+. The defense is better, but the lack of unity of the offensive is too obvious. Turnovers and failure to rebound the ball limits possessions and quality shots.

Darren is not Chris Paul for us, and with that many posters will not throw him under the bus. They instead will throw JOB under the bus. Josh will have a great season in perspective. But because he is not the MIP of the NBA many blame JOB. After Danny, Roy, Darren, Dunleavy, and Tyler miss a considerable time and the team struggles off to maintain any consistency. They fail late, but Dunleavy shows resurgence late. Giving more future "hope".

Pacers 37-45 and they pick 13--CJ Leslie.

JOB is not resigned and Bird extends one more year.

Collison is sure to get at least 5... and that's being really conservative, even ford averaged more than 5 his first year here.

I, for one, think that Milwaukee is extremely overrated, and that last year was a one time thing for them. They rode a wave starting with Brandon Jennings' 55 point game. Now with Corey Maggette and Drew Gooden their defense is going to take a hit. John Salmons may not play as much and he did a great job of making things happen within the flow of the offense.

I think everyone voting the Bobcats into the Playoffs is totally off base. They play in such a strong division. That alone will kill them. If they win 3 of their 12 games against Miami, Orlando, and Atlanta, they will be doing about what I expect.

Eastern Playoff Teams

3. :magic: Right on Miami's heels all season 59-23

5. :hawks: Could be the one seed if they played in the Atlantic or Central 54-28
6. :bucks: Won't be as good as everyone expects 47-35
7. :xpacers: Benefit from a weaker division, huge dropoff from 6 to here 42-40
8. :knicks: Also benefit from a weak division and an up tempo pace 42-40

Western Conference
1. :lakers: Motivated and hungry to knock off the Heat 63-19
2. :thunder: Durant made the leap 60-22
3. :mavericks: Play in the weakest west division 60-22
4. :jazz: I like this team 57-25
5. :trailblazers: If they stay healthy for once 54-28
6. :spurs: Could be their last dance 53-29

It was fun reading through here and seeing how off or on some people were with their points. I gotta say I think Ozwalt72 made the best prediction.

Pacers 39-43, 8th seed in the east.

George will be playing a major role for the team after the all-star break. As in producing, not just receiving minutes.

Collison, George, and McRoberts will be a heck of a fast break.

He is only going to be a game or two off the record and is spot on about Paul George. I guess he isn't producing a ton, but enough to be our starter.

I didn't post in the thread but I made this prediction earlier this season:

38-44 8th seed in the East (will face Chicago)
JOB gets fired, team plays much better without him
Young guys drive us crazy, but show a lot of promise
Tyler Hansbrough can play in the NBA

Now, how much earlier in the season I predicting this? About 5 minutes ago...

15th parallel

Reading my previous post on this thread, I actually got some correct predictions. Starting out with:

Playoffs 1st Round (East)
Indiana vs Chicago

If my previous predictions for the playoffs will come true, then we'll win the first round and reach the NBA finals to win it all. I'll get some goosebumps when that comes true. :D

As for my predictions for the Pacers season awards, I actually got most of them correct:

MVP:
Danny Granger (This is debatable, but he's still the MVP of the Pacers this season).

MIP:
Tyler Hansbrough (Also debatable, but he has shown significant progress after missing most of his rookie season with illness.)

Leading Scorer:
Danny Granger (Currently at 20.5ppg)

Leading Rebounder:
Roy Hibbert (currently at 7.6rpg)

Leading Assists:
Darren Collison (currently at 5.1apg)

Leading Shot Blocker:
Roy Hibbert (currently at 1.8bpg)

Leading Steals:
Darren Collison (currently at 1.1spg)

Woot. And my idea of producing at the time was about 10ppg, 4 rbs. So yeah, I guess I didn't do too bad.

[QUOTE=vnzla81;1075861]My predictions are:

1) Once again no playoffs this year, they would also win less games 20/25 games.

I am glad I was wrong on this one, thank you Vogel :D

2) Dunleavy is not going to average more than 10 points a game and is not going to be the same Dunleavy from three years ago, in fact he is going to be the same guy we saw last year.

I was off by one point ;)

3) JOB would get fired in the middle of the season, the record is going to be so bad that it would make Larry Bird to finally make the call and cut him, giving the assistant coach the rest of the season to play the youngsters.

Who is the man? :-p

4) Foster is not going to be back to his old self either, he is not going to average more than 5 reb per game.

I was wrong about Jeff

5) Collison is going to be what we expected, but his game is not going to be enough for the pacers to get the wins they need.

I don't know about this, Collison has help us win and lose games at the same time.

6) Danny would be the usual Danny, I think his numbers are going to go down a bit(because of Collison)

He is down 4 points per game

7) The easter Conference Finalls is going to be Miami/Celtics and in the West Lakers/Thunder

I still think this is going to happen.
