Two insiders say that the Warriors are willing to make a trade for Carmelo Anthony without him agreeing to sign an extension with the team.

The Nuggets reportedly have heavy interest in Stephen Curry, but the Warriors would be strongly opposed to parting with the Rookie of the Year runner-up.

Sounds like another non-story trying to establish a higher asking price for Melo. I would be willing to trade for Melo if it just cost us some Expiring Contracts....but nothing more. The asking price from the Nuggest to acquire Melo as a 1 year rental is too high for the Warriors...much less any other Team.

Yes i woulnt even do it for paul G and mike D st8 up because melo is just gonna bolt for NYC. If the warriors give them anything i would be surprised.

If Melo would do an extension in Denver, sure, I'd S&T PG, Dun for Melo.

I think any team would be silly not force Melo to sign an extension before the trade. There would be no guarantee that Melo would stay on their team, and even if he didnt want to stay, they could at least trade him for other assets.

Whoevery lands Melo is going to have to give up a lot, so you would definitely want him to sign an extension. Im sure if GS is involved, DEN is asking for Curry

It's another non-story. Warriors organization likes floating rumors like this just to make them look like they're trying. I mean, I'm sure they have spoken to Denver, but it's mostly just to be able to say they tried and to get their name in the news.

Not the first time they've pulled this stuff.

Well the Nuggets are on record for keeping Billups and Lawson, so adding Curry to the mix, the Nuggets would be adopting Khan's plan, which is working out so well for the Wolves.

If the Warriors trade for Melo without an extension and give up Curry in the process, I'm going to **** my pants from laughter.

I thought the Warriors had different people in there now? Different owner, management, and obviously a new coach?

This just in: the Wolves are interested in Melo too and the Nuggets still aren't interested in the poo-poo platter.

The new ownership hasn't officially taken over. The deal won't be approved until mid-August. Nellie's buddy Larry Riley is still GM. And somehow -amazingly- Robert Rowell still has a job. It's mostly symbolic, but I find it a travesty that Nellie (only guy in the past 30+ years to have success with the Warriors) is gone before that twit named Robert Rowell.
