According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the Jazz are 'working out' free agent guard Earl Watson.

Our View: In 79 games for the Pacers last season, he averaged 7.8 points, 5.1 assists and three rebounds. He'd be a nice addition for a team that is thinking big in 2010-11.

Aww... they should trade for Ford if they need a backup PG. An AK47 for Dunleavy and Ford deal would get it done. :signit:

Good for Earl. He's a nice player to have as a backup.

Hopefully he finds himself a spot with them.

It seems like a good fit. Better than he was here. Best of luck Earl. Hope you get signed.

I thought they had 3 pgs under contract and had invited Scheyer to camp. Interesting.

I'm surprised the Heat haven't signed him by now. I thought he'd be a perfect fit there as well.

Agreed. Who is their backup now? Maybe it's just because of my exposure to his game, but I'd think Earl would be one of the better backup PG's out there...

We should get away from the idea that anybody has interest in TJ Ford. At least until the trade deadline.

If you were the Jazz GM, would you do that deal? I highly doubt it. BUT I sure wouldn't be against that deal either if it should happen! AK47 might even flourish in Jimmy's system.

When reflecting about Watson not yet being signed this close to training camp, it makes me wonder why. Is it b/c he's not that good? There were better FA PG than Watson that other teams wanted? Earl wanted too much money or length of contract? His age?

What do you think has been the reason/reasons?

Jazz workout Earl Watson

For the record... "workout" is a noun or an adjective.

He had a good workout.
We watched the workout videos.

"Work out" is a verb.

I took some time to work out.

Good for Earl. I wish him the best of luck. And for the record, I liked him so much more here for this one season than I ever liked our overpriced T.J. Ford. Hopefully Earl finds much success in Utah.
