Indiana Pacers

Players: Danny Granger, Mike Dunleavy and T.J. Ford

Legend: Detlef Schrempf

The tough times continue for Pacer People. Contractual obstacles prevent EA from making the obvious selection of Reggie Miller as Indy's legend -- apparently because Reg isn't an active member of the NBA players' association -- so that spot went to his co-star in the original arcade setup: Schrempf. Far harder to explain is why Ford snagged the third spot among current Pacers instead of the imposing Roy Hibbert.

Not too thrilled with the roster, and I'm even a Dunleavy fan! Reggie not being the legend is EXTREMELY disappointing. Won't be buying this game now.

Congrats to the pacers who made the new NBA JAM roster. Damn I couldn't get any love tho. How you gonna play 3 on 3 with no center. Mad!!!!!

I don't blame Roy. I take him over T.J Ford everyday of the week. I take it fans had no say!

FAIL...

EPIC, EPIC FAIL...

Not that I could afford to anyways, but this precludes me from buying the game with 100% certainty.

The NBA JAM re-boot actually got excellent reviews. Pity it isn't (as of now) being sold outside of the NBA Elite bundle.

Detlef Schrempf, though? nice. Too bad, though, Most other NBA teams got 2 classic players. Of course, the Bucks and Bobcats got zero....

How cool is it that Manute Bol is in this game? Really?

They have the game for the full game for the Wii. As to why only a full version on the Wii and not XBox or Ps3? I have no clue.

And Detlef instead of Reggie ( who was in one of the original versions of NBA Jams ) sucks.

I guess Reggie hasn't sold out yet like Jordan has.

Because there is no Elite 11 for the wii, and the wii version generally sucks by comparison.

I'm confused. Are you saying Jordan is a "sell-out" for allowing 2K to use his likeness, and Reggie is better because he didn't?

Honestly Dunleavy should have gotten the snub. The traditional line up is a small (pg) a medium (sg or sf) and your big (pf or center). So in that format it should have been Ford, Granger and Hibbert. IMO. Glad im getting NBA 2k11;)

Have to say I'm not too thrilled with the Pacers lineup either and without Reggie to team up with makes it even worse. I guess Granger and Dunleavy could be the new generation version of Miller and Schrempf. Either way think I may just have to stick with what I've already got.

i was thinking Collison, Granger, Hibbert

Those would have been the logical selections. I'm guessing it was already completed before the Collison deal went down.

The Pacers are likely the only team to have 2 bench players as there selections.

They're also 2 candidates who still may not be on the roster come training camp. Though I expect and hope Dunleavy is a Pacer

Not to mention that some teams have multiple legends and more than 3 players. Man they really dropped the ball!!

Ford doesn't even play a huge role here anymore so I'm surprised he was chosen as one of the 3.

I can understand Granger and Dunleavy. They were both the co-stars of the team.

I suppose the odds are against online roster updates for this on Elite 11?

I'd love to see it revised to be Collison, Granger, and Roy.

Since NBA Jam characters have to be created with a bit more care and detail, I don't think roster updates are possible.

The rosters were determined by fan voting online on some site... some teams have 4 players if voting was really close, and legends weren't added for Milwaukee and Charlotte because they couldn't get rights to legendary players (Milwaukee) and they didn't have any (Charlotte).

For what it's worth, EA updates their NFL Arcade game (http://www.ea.com/games/madden-nfl-arcade) pretty frequently. I wouldn't be surprised if they did something similar for Jam.

Absolutely terrible. I wouldn't even take the time to download this game if I still had a modded 360.

For Collison to have had any chance to make it as a Pacer he would have had to be on the team last season. These type of games are in production for 2 or 3 years, and then are finished 2 to 3 months before they are even released. A change like that would have had to be made at least 6 months before the game was released if not longer.

....... ummmm what? I studied the video game industry for a very long time before getting some work on PC games, and I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

NBA Jam is a relatively simple game, hence why it's going to be free with NBA Elite 11. If NBA Jam had a 2-3 year development cycle, they must have been letting Freshman at Digipen work on the game or something. They also wouldn't be giving it away for free. Not to mention, games aren't completely finished until 2-4 weeks before they release. No idea where you have this concept that games are finished 3 months before they come out.

Someone's been feeding you some bad info.

Is that why the Heat have LeBron and Bosh? The Bulls have Boozer. The Wizards have John Wall?

I think the players are predetermined a bit though, barring anything major.

I mean they still have Courtney Lee on the Nets and he was traded to the Rockets?

I just think they dropped the ball when it comes to the Pacers roster. Aside from Collison, Hibbert should have been on there, and now that I see Courtney Lee still on the Nets, how do you leave Troy Murphy off the team? The last 2 seasons he's been our 2nd best stat guy?

PLEASE MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR!

I want to be relevant to the national media again

I wonder who would play D on that team
