Now if NBA League Pass simply allows us to CHOOSE which feed we get to watch like they started doing last year... I should get HD feeds almost every night!!!

Hopefully the HD feed is higher quality than last year's crap.

It didn't look great, but considering I found the SD feed unwatchable*, I didn't mind.

* Of course, the team probably had something to do with that.

[edit] I should say this is very much appreciated. Especially considering I have to actually watch this year. Stupid Collison trade. :kickcan:

My HD feed was terrible I have bright house at home and UVerse when at school. It was improvement, but it was not HD quality IMO.

Yeah I know the majority of the games came on the HD channel as well as the SD channel, but there was only like 15 or so games in HD. I thought it looked great.

I did watch the other games on the HD channel as well, b/c they were slightly better than the SD

Let's hold the phone here. Just because they are on FSIhd doesn't mean they are on in hd. Lets just wait for the official word shall we??

Does that mean that International League Pass will also be in HD?

That's possible, but I don't think they listed it this way last year, did they?

Last year they listed it with FSI for SD and FSIHD for the HD games. I can't find the original link, but I remember that pretty specifically. They wouldn't list FSIHD if they were just simulcasting the SD feed on FSIHD like they used to do.

http://www.myindianahomeblog.com/journal/2009/11/19/2009-2010-indiana-pacers-schedule.html

There's a link where someone just C&P'ed the 09-10 schedule table, and you see it doesn't list HD for all of them. So, I'm pretty sure all the games are going to be in HD this year.

That makes me feel a little better. I just didn't want to get my hopes up.

I'm encouraged by that as well. I knew there was a reason this excited me, but I couldn't remember with complete certainty that it was different last year. I'm glad to see that it was.

I've also gone ahead and asked the Pacers about it. If/when I get a response, I'll share what they say about it.

I asked Chris Denari on twitter and he was nice enough to respond.

@pwee31 I believe that to be true...all games in HD.

Last years HD feed was laughable. The pacers honestly were the only team that had nearly all their games not in HD.

You will see true HD this year when the games are not shot in 4/3. There should be no bars on the side that say HD.

The games you saw shot in 4/3 were not meant to be HD or were passed off as true HD. The HD FSI channel merely broadcasted the SD feed. Only 15 games were shot in HD 16x9. Obviously those 15 games had no bars.

Like he said, those are SD games that are on the HD feed. A few HD stations I've seen do this, other stations (like ESPN) will just extend and blur the sides when showing 4:3 SD content. I've always looked at the bars that say HD on the side as letting whoever's watching know that yes, they're on the HD channel but there is no HD feed.

I can't wait for the games to be in HD. The few that were HD looked great. I remember watching a game last year (I always watched on the HD feed regardless of whether it was broadcast in that or not) and about midway through the first quarter, I was wondering why it felt like I was there. That's when I realized I was able to see who was who on the court with ease and that the game was being broadcast in high-def. This is going to make the games a lot easier to watch, and consequently everyone here will find the flaws in JOB's coaching scheme with much more ease.

When FSI did actual HD broadcasts last year, I felt that the picture was stellar. SD broadcasts, however, made the court look like it was almost orange.

Nice.

Now if only most games will be televised on FSN Indiana through League Pass.

The HD FSI channel merely broadcasted the SD feed.

And I'm glad they did because for all intents and purposes watching the SD game on the HD channel looked better than the SD counterpart. I doubt it was the upconversion as much as it was more forgiving compression used on the HD channel.

Yeh, is it just me is a lot of HD "not what it used to be"?

Seems like i"m regularly checking the stations because what's HD just doesn't look like it sometimes.

I think it's just people are more use to HD and so the wow factor is gone.

If you go back to watching SD for awhile you'll understand the difference and how big it still is.

I know I adjust and just expect now, but I still have friends and family that come over who are us to SD and think my TV picture is amazing.

This is really great! But only 3 Nationally televised games. Really 2 because some people (including me) can't get NBA TV.

Why is the road game against the Clippers never televised?
