The party we are planning for November 27th could be a big event.

We most likely will have Able flying in from overseas. Doug in CT will be here. There is a chance that Bill S will be in town from Atlanta, as well as Arkman.

Plus our usual collection of regulars from around central Indiana.

In the past I have attempted to get the Star or a Pacer writer to attend. Thinking it would make a pretty good feature article somewhere.

Here's the question.

Should Hicks or Able or one of the Admin guys try contacting a national publication?

Would they rip us as no-life internet geeks or would they hail us as the cutting edge of fandom brought together by the internet fueled shrinking of the global village. Like, what the hell does that mean?

Any thouights?

I'm certainly interested. I just do not know who to go to. The Star might be more willing and more friendly. Maybe we should invite Montieth? Or would that force Peck to not talk during the evening? :D

Get Cat Sadler of Fox 59 News. It would get some recognition for the forum and she's not bad company, either.

Or, Scot Hoke, Jimmy "Mad Dog" Matis or Chick McGee or....

It would not interest me any if a media guy was there. Don't care one way or the other.

If Mark Montieth was there I would not talk to him either. That was for you Hicks.

But really I don't care either way.

I've been thinking lately about how nice it would be to be able to grill someone like Monteith on one question: "So, just how crazy is Ron?" I'm sure he'd have a much more informed opinion than all the "experts" on here.

Don't know if he'd really tell us, though.

How about Scott Hoke with the Pacers Television Network or maybe the young lady who does the interviews at halftime? That would make for a heckuva Pacers halftime gig.

I sent him a PM just after we set the date for the last one & never heard back from him.

He might have gone into lurking mode because he hasn't posted anything since June 24th.

I hope he returns when the season gets started.

I think NBA TV might be interested, keep in mind if you generate publicity you are going to attract the kind of people who have overrun the Star board.

Grr, I don't know if I can make that date. I'm usually out of town for Thanksgiving weekend. :(

If my homeboy Carlos Diaz were still at NBA-TV, we'd have no problem getting publicity.

All I have to do is blackmail him with pictures of my younger brother's sixth birthday party. But I think he's on Celebrity Deathmatch now or something like that, so unless anybody really wants to see UB and I in a cage match to "once and for all settle the fate of Ron Artest" then I don't think that'll work...

How did Paul B find out about the Digest?I remember before I was registered on here.He was at IS and he started a thread about what kind of music he should play.
