Did you see this business about the Chargers "incentives" for Philip Rivers? Wow, 5 mil for winning the Super Bowl 4 times in his first four years. What a sheist organization.

Do those of you who resented Eli M earlier this year feel this vindicates him? I never had a problem with what he did, but if I did I think I would reconsider after this.

"5 mil for winning the Super Bowl 4 times in his first four years"? I don't get what you're saying.

Sheist?

That's part of his incentive bonus? Good lord. If that were to actually happen, he'd deserve WAY more than $5 mil.

MSA2CF, my guess is that "sheist" is another term (likely German) for the slang word for "excrement."

Zesty, you are correct sir! It's an old college term we half way invented. I went to a religious college up by Marion, and my friends and I kind of invented the word to cuss without the people around us realizing it. I suppose it doesn't make much sense out of context....

MCA, if it sounds hard to believe, its probably b/c it sounds like it must mean something else. But that's really the offer. According to Dan Patrick yesterday, the Chargers offered an incentive of 5 mil if Philip Rivers signs and wins the Super Bowl each of his first four years. I think it went on to offer further incentives for winning the Super Bowl each of his first five years and each of his first six years. It just sounds unreal. Maybe a lot of contracts offer some goofy incentives like that along with many other more reasonable ones, but that's the only thing Dan Patrick was talking about.

I think Eli was smarter than we realized.
