One of our very own ex players. Marquis Daniels who played some point guard for us and the mavs. Both players pretty much get to the rim at will. This is who he reminds me the most and seems the best description to me.

Tyreke Evans is hands down the best comparison.

Lance is slightly larger with a less refined skill set.

I think Daniels is a good comparison because he manages to work his way to the hoop not with superb quickness but with frequent changes of direction that confuse his defenders. He's also an excellent finisher like Marquis. However, I never saw Marquis pass nearly as well as Stephenson did yesterday.

One thing I was thinking while I was watching Stephenson was that he reminded me a little of Mark Jackson in the way he knows how to use his body to protect the ball. They both lack elite quickness at a position that requires it, but Jackson was crafty enough to still thrive. Of course, if Lance is 2/3 of Mark Jackson he's the steal of the draft.

He reminds me of microwave Vinnie Johnson with less vertical but far superior passing skills.

His ability to draw fouls reminds me of Adrian Dantley.

Tyreke Evans. I mentioned this in another thread. Stevenson always manages to find a way to the rim as Evans does. The only thing the scares me of Stevenson is he can be flashy at times. He really likes those 1 handed passed. They were effective in game 1 of the summer league but NBAers play the passing lane a lot better and he'll need to be careful with those passed

... Jamaal Tinsley. (Danman ducks)

Not quite that level of handle, but strong and crafty and lethal in informal play.

If he continues at point, he'll have the same challenge as Tin -- develop a shot or NBA defenders will sag back and your driving/ passing lanes disappear.

I'm kinda skeptical about a college SG switching to PG, but JoB's scheme asks little of PG's anyhow. Maybe. At least he keeps his eyes up.

I'd like to see Paul George do more than camp the 3pt line.

Summer League... Like it, though it generates more false positives than a Love Test machine in a pub.

He reminds me either of Jamaal Artest or Ron Tinsley. I can't decide which one.

He reminds me of the good ole days when I was excited about the Pacers...why? B/c yesterday watching him play in the Summer League, got me excited about the Pacers

Isn't he a character from those horrible Harry Potter movies?

Tyreke Evans indeed!

Tyreke Evans.

Both aren't exactly PGs, but they have the ability to fill the position well and score more inside arc.

R. Westbrook

How do you figure that one??

I wonder if Lance will end up being like Vern Fleming. Vern was not terribly quick, didn't handle the ball incredibly well, but he was a very good passer and probably the best finisher in traffic that I've ever seen.
