In an introduction of the two players on Pacers Crate, there was a clear indication from the hosts and Stephenson himself that he's largely practicing at the point position.

I just posted a thread on Lance running the point, arrrgh!

That explains a lot. Hope it will be a success. Makes the wing look a little less cramped if he's successful

well I guess we'll start it here! :)
what do you guys think of Lance running point?
I personally don't want him running point full time, I want him to play some sg too. I feel like thats what JOB will do, knowing his track record of playing either Jack and Ford at the same time, or Ford and Watson at the same time.

Stephenson playing PG has to come from Bird. He's seen something in the kid and decided to roll the dice. It makes our draft strategy seem a bit more sensible.

The question becomes are we happy going into the season with something like Farmar, Price, and Stephenson at the point?

See Born Ready throw a nasty shove on Kramer there.

Magnum seemed pretty confident and well spoken in the Crate interview...I like what I see so far.

Lance .... I'll just be nice, and keep my opinion to myself. Yup yup.

We can't keep forcing players to play out of their position.

I'm hoping he doesn't get consistent minutes at the point. That's just not what will make us good or what will make him good.

I could see TJ Ford remaining to start the season, AJ Price backing him up, Stephenson waiting in the wing until TJ is traded at the trade deadline. Doubt that would happen, but I can envision it happening. It wouldn't be a bad thing, though.

Wouldn't be a bad thing? Have you see the Pacers record the last 2 seasons Ford has started compared to the 2nd half with Jack and Watson?

Anyone one else want to put money on Lance's IQ being under 80?

I don't think that matters as long as he can play ball and not do bonehead things off court. Nobody asked for rhodes scholars to play in the NBA :P

I think it will be like Ron Artest's little brother leading the point. It doesn't take a genius...and I suppose he can't do much worse running a team than TJ.

He seems like a nice guy and a little shy. Nothing wrong with that.

The first time I ever saw myself on camera, I was appalled at how stupid I looked and sounded.

You ever take a public speaking class? Public speaking is not easy for most people. He appeared nervous to me, not unintelligent.

He's had more exposure to the interviews then most players, especially Magnum Rolle and Paul George. I mean.. with an entire show dedicated to him and all.

And this.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunnin%27_for_That_No._1_Spot

That means absolutely nothing. It doesn't matter how many interviews you do. If you're not comfortable speaking in public, you may never be.

You could tell he was nervous. Thanks for being nice. You put me in front of a camera and I'll probably freeze up! Some people just aren't comfortable directly in front of the camera, like Ricky Williams and how he would always wear his helmet. lol

I don't hold being nervous against anyone.

I'd rather put money on how STUPID you are!!! What king of hating moron makes a statement like that about a fellow human being who's only 19yrs old. Check out his freshman grades at UC; they were probably higher than your own.

I'll take your bet and anybody else's.

Just so you know, a below 80 IQ puts him in the bottom 9% of the population.
