ON REID: One of the most rapidly improving big men in the Atlantic Coast Conference who, with continued improvement, should develop into one of the top big men in one of the top conferences in the nation...enters his junior season having playing in 57 career games as the Seminoles' main go-to-player in the post...with added size and bulk in the line-up and on the roster this season...he will be able to work on becoming more of an all-around player for the Seminoles...without having to shoulder all of the load down below his game will flourish in other areas such as stepping back and learning how to shoot jump shots and continuing to become a shot blocker while increasing his rebounding skills...should become one of the Seminoles' all-time leaders in blocked shots during his junior season...he averages 16.0 blocked shots per season and has 32 career blocked shots entering his junior season...he needs to block 22 shots as a junior to move on Florida State's all-time top 20 for career blocked shots...one of the top field goal shooters in school history who enters his junior season shooting 544 from the field for his career...he has been the top field goal shooter for the Seminoles in both of his first two seasons...he enters his junior season ranked 15th on Florida State's all-time list of successful field goal shooters...will qualify as one of the ACC and national leaders in his final two seasons with more field goal attempts during each individual season...the biggest shot of his career came against North Carolina in a nationally televised game against the Tar Heels in Tallahassee during his sophomore season...he made a deep 3-point shot from the right corner with 8.1 seconds remaining in regulation to pull Florida State into a tie with the nationally ranked Tar Heels and send the game into overtime...Reid's shot was the first 3-point field goal attempt of his career...gained a rebound of a missed 3-point attempt by teammate Isaiah Swann and with no North Carolina player guarding him and time running down calmly swished the shot to tie the score at 67-67...the Tar Heels went on to win the game with an 84-73 margin...one of the most improved free throw shooters on the team and shot a career-high .679 from the line as a sophomore...he improved his free throw shooting percentage by nearly 15 percentage points as compared to his freshman season...has led Florida State to two victories over arch rival Florida in his first two years including the Seminoles' 65-51 victory over the Gators during the 2007-08 season...played exceedingly well as a freshman after not playing virtually the entire 2005-06 season before enrolling at Florida State in the fall of 2006...picked up where he left off as a high school senior and adapted well to the speed of the college game...drove his stock way up during the summer of 2005 and summer when he demonstrated face up ability in a power forward's body...is a bruising power forward who specializes in defending and rebounding...has a solid skill set for a power forward...a four-star forward and the 23rd best high school power forward by Rivals.com in 2005...rated as the fifth best player in the state of Florida by Rivals.com at the end of his senior season...the 36th best player nationally by Hoop Alliance as a senior...rated as the 61st best player in the Cream of the Southeast Crop Report by the Southeastern Basketball Report...helped the Tallahassee Wildcats and head coach John Adkins capture the championship at the Showtime National Championship in Suwannee, Ga., during the summer of 2004...the Wildcats also played in the Super 64 Tournament in California during the summer before his senior season...earned the team award for the top field goal shooting percentage from the Seminole coaching staff at the annual team banquet in 2008..
