As far as I knew, the amount per year it cost for NBA League Pass was different depending on what time of the year you bought it.

Can you tell me what the prices were at diff. times last year? I'm assuming it's cheaper now than it will be in say, October. And perhaps cheaper after January?

I'd have to call to be sure, but isn't it most of the time $150 for a year? (I'm asking anyone, not just vapacersfan)

Did you look it up on a website? Is there a place I can check for Indiana?

And any Indiana users please feel free to just tell me how much you paid.

Thats about right, Hicks. You get it cheaper if you pre-order a month early.

By a month early do you mean a month before the season starts? If so then good, I should be able to order it by early September.

Oh, and any idea how much cheaper it will be? Maybe $30 less?

:directv: NBA league pass:

Early Bird Special $159 if you order before the start of the season.
Can be done in 4 payments of 39.99/month

Regular Price of $179.99 occurs when you order after the free NBA weekend at the beginning of the season.

Half season special of $99 comes into effect around Jan. 15th.

Hopes this helps! League pass :rockon4: ...I have had it since '95 when they had NBA Team Pass. Still worth the money. I was thinking about not getting League Pass this year since I will have season tix this year, but to keep NBA-TV it will cost me $144 ($12/month) for the year, so I might as well keep league pass and get NBA-TV for the whole season for free.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Gnome, it does a lot! I'm getting DirecTV. :)

Hicks...I was just watching NBA-TV and Direct TV is offering a deal for 3 receivers, dish and all for 29.99/month plus programming for the first 6 months. You might want to call, but I am under the impression that the installation is free!

Here is the website:

I actually don't check the price I pay anymore, but there used to be a "renewal" discount on DirecTV so that people that were subscribers last year won't pay as much as the new subscribers this year.

The amazing thing is NBA League Pass is $159.00. That is only $13.25 per month. or $26.50 per month during the season.

far be it from me to suggest they raise the price, but I would be wiilling to pay much more than I do.

When does the season end in their eyes? June 30th?

When does LP consider itself at the end of the year?

Nice call Hicks on DirecTV - not sure whether football is an interest - but Circuit City hs a deal with 3 free receivers and NFL Sunday Ticket for a sweet deal AND as long as you are getting it - look into the TiVo receiver - you will not believe how much TiVo improves your viewing experience - and it is only $5 extra a month.

OK, looking for specific answers now:

1) When I call the 800 # to get NBALP, and they get it running for me, does the cost of LP get added to my monthly satellite bill? Isn't that the typical way to pay?

2) How long do I get it before it charges for the next season? When's the end of the season to them? I'll probably just let them bill me for the new year and keep it going, but I want to know when it would run out if for some reason I cancelled after the regular season is over.

1. Yes

2. I'm not paying for the 2004/5 season yet. If I recall correctly, the "four monthly payments" stuff starts about the same time as the regular season. (But I could be wrong, Jay's_Wife@Section222 pays the bills now).

I'd like to pay the 4 months of $39.99 method. I wonder how early I can order it? I'd like to get it to get NBATV asap, and plus I don't want to push it to where I'd have to pay more because the season was about to start.

I should have satellite up and running in 10-15 days, and I know that's still really early for the NBA season, but I still would like to get it asap to get it paid off early, and also to get NBATV.

I'm not getting it to see more Pacers games (though I'm sure I'll catch 1 or 2 I'd otherwise have missed), I'm getting it to see any game I want, plus NBATV. :)

Some of you might want to wait. Did you see the announced schedule?? Pacers getting a MAJOR boost in exposure. (about time)
SEVENTEEN!! NATIONALLY televised games!!! 5 on TNT, some on ESPN!
Would DirectTV in Fort Wayne get me WTTV?? How many games do they show?
I was going to get LP, may just pass on it now and get the basic package. :p

That won't work.

If you live in Ft Wayne, and don't get League Pass, you won't be able to see any Pacer games except those on ESPN/ABC and TNT.

if you try to skirt the system and only get the Sports package, the games will be blacked out.

If you get LP without the sports channels you will see the games on Channel 4 but not the games on Fox Sports MW. If you want to see those you have to get both LP and the sports channels
