Easy....cuz I have come around to respecting what Dumars has done in PistonsLand.

Although I do respect Kobe's game, I chose the Lakers cuz IMHO...I think that they have smug fans that have an overdeveloped sense of entitlement.

Today's Star has a little blurb saying he can't have ANY contact. That's it.

It also said Dunleavy has the Flu, any updates on that one?

Jim O'brien you better start Dahntay Jones to guard Kobe if you even want a slim punchers chance to win this game. Its time to be smart

I voted for the Lakers. I live in LA, and I can vouch for how entitled and smug the fans here are. It sickens me. I *RELISH* having the chance to be the one outspoken Laker detractor in a room full of fairweather fans.

And yes, last season's tip in win felt SOOOOOOO good.

As far as my reasons for voting...
Obviously the 2000 Finals. Still lots of bad blood there. Reggie deserved it, his team deserved it.

Had this poll been taken in the late 90's early 2000's, the Knicks would have been my overwhelming choice. After the Brawl, the Pistons would have been another close call.

But since the Knicks are a joke now, and our rivalry is basically gone, my vote just HAS to go to LA. I cannot adequately explain my pure disdain for that basketball team.

I guess I think Howard and Lewis are both too tall and coordinated and it seems unfair. Stan Van Jeremy doesn't help.

Rush is starting to become my favorite Pacer, even over Granger and Hibbert. First he just looked at Kobe and Kobe got all scared and lost control of the ball(or so I'm going to believe), then he jumped over all those big guys to pull down that rebound. This is the Rush I've been waiting to see and I think he's only starting to scratch the surface.

Good to see we are trying to play the "kill Watson game"

..if for whatever Reason he doesn't trust Price, then he needs to play Head or Deiner or Rush at point for a few minutes....not that it matters anymore. (although A.J. did look a little "off" when he got put back in, maybe the elbow to the head effected him a little...still..Watson needed a break.)

also..I'm glad Kobe remembered how to shoot tonight..at least we helped someone end their slump.

Our team sucks, let me count thy ways.

Troy and Dunleavy are horrible. I mean terribad, if they aren't hitting shots they are worthless. Beyond worthless, they hurt our team being on the floor, it is so bad that anyone else on any team in the NBA would be a better choice, anyone in the NBDL would be a better choice. seriously.

We have the worst coach in the league. WTF Jim, wtf.

I hope to god we fire Jim this year, if not in this season, the first day of the offseason.

Our PGs are probably the worst in the league. Though AJ might be good if he played most of the time. But damn, even Ford would've been a good option over the horrible excuse for a basketball game our PGs played this game. WTF PGs, wtf.

Brandon Rush is freaking awesome. He is my favorite player on this team. I know he threw the ball to Fisher... I know he passed up a couple good shots. But he is a badass on D. I appreciate that.

I wish we had a coach that would play Hibbert all of Murphys minutes, or at least put McBob/Hans in there with Hibbert.

Not sure what the freaking out is.

Honestly, the team faced a Kobe Bryant playing better than he has in a month. And an Andrew Bynumn that was defended by Roy Hibbert and Troy Murphy.

Coaching was infuriating, as always.

The PG's, I'm not sure if Price sat because of the elbow to the head, or because he made one mistake and he's got as short of a leash as Roy and Rush for whatever reason. But Earl Watson, particularly an Earl Watson that isn't playing well..can not play for 35 minutes. He's just not effective.

I thought the call JOB made was good against the sixers. In general, I think with Watson in Price, if you are trying to make a comeback..or needs some energy (or some freaking offense) Price is the one you go to in the fourth quarter. But against the Sixers, the Pacers had the lead..and although I think A.J. can handle it, going with Watson is the safest bet, because A.J. is a rookie, and have those "moments" and then the Pacers lose the game.

This game, however..Indiana needed that energy, that offense...and Watson needed to get some rest. Still, as I said, I don't know if he was sat because of the elbow to the head..as he looked a bit funny when he came back in the game..but if not..bad move JOB. If for whatever screwed up excuse you don't trust Price in that moment, despite the fact that he's defended Chris Paul so Derek Fisher isn't all that scary, then for godsakes give Diener a couple of minutes, or *even though I HATE this idea..because no one will touch the ball..it's still a better option than trying to kill Watson* let Head run the point for a few minutes. This isn't just about the win either. Would Price have done anything? I don't know, he's shown he's capable, but he's also shown he's a rookie. But that isn't the point. The point is Watson's old. He's gotta play a game on Friday, fatigue just asks for an injury. And I'm not sure I want to see Ford back in the rotation..nor do I want to see Diener playing either.

But why is it, that Rush, Roy, and now possibly Price..have a short leash..and Dunleavy and Watson and Troy...and for the longest time TJ.. can suck an entire game, and barely even get any rest. That, as a fan..is infuriating.

anyway, special mention for Brandon was noticable this game. He went up against Kobe Bryant, and as a viewer, I Noticed Him..that's pretty huge.

Rush has a long leash in terms of playing time..sort of..

But quite often he gets blamed when something goes wrong. Him and Roy are JOB's favorite scapegoats. Which to me..is a bit of leash in itself.

Even if you are getting time...but your coach says it's only because you have such little confidence you can't handle going to the bench...ect..it's sort of..defeating.

Roy tied for best plus minus on team at -3. Murphy with a team worst -26. Its not always an accurate gauge for one game, but with Murphy dead last for the season, the pattern continues.

And how much you wanna bet we see murphy start the next game at center and hear JOB reiterate that the small lineup with Troy at center is our best lineup, when according to the ACTUAL stats, The small lineup with ROY at center is our best lineup.

At least Roy played as many minutes as Troy tonight, but JOB needs to pull his had out of his *** and bring Troy Murphy off the bench, for no more than 20 minutes per game, for the rest of the season. As many on this forum have advocated... FOR MONTHS. but that won't happen, a trade will be our only saving grace.

JOB's solution? If Roy proves he should be starting, he will just start them together... which has consistently proven to be one of our WORST lineups.

JOB will never bring Troy Murphy off the bench, no matter what it seems. I don't care about Troy's feelings, grow a pair, do whats best for the team, stop overusing Troy. Otherwise, for GODS SAKE PLEASE LET HIM BE TRADED.

The only saving grace is the continued improvement of our draft position. Thank you Jim. If you deliver us Wall or Turner, I may take back everything bad I ever said about you.

PaceBalls
01-27-2010, 10:33 PM
My disgust with Jim and his devotion to Troy Murphy has reached the point that I don't want to see Troy traded anymore. If just for the fact that this team might actually start playing good and Jim might unwittingly luck his way into keeping his job. Though it would be a 50/50 chance he would play Mike Dunleavy at the 5 spot if he didn't have Murphy to play. :banghead:
