Jack v. Calderon?

I guess we could only hope.

Otherwise, isn't this the "match up" where Roy isn't worth of starting?

Jack and Calderon. Freudian slip?

Should be interesting to see how much Hibbert plays tonight. Also interesting to see if Josh gets any run tonight, as this would seem to be a game he might be more apt to play, if ever, given the matchups.

Josh has about a snowballs chance in hell. Hibbert might not even play over 15 mins. Our coach would play Murph at C, PF, SF and SG all 48 minutes if he had 4 of him.

PaceBalls

It will probably be Murph at Center once Jim benches Hibbert for the rest of the game after the 1st quarter. Dun will be our Power Forward with Danny at the 3, or vice versa. We are gonna get creamed.

Raps are a weak defensive team, they're coming off a back to back where they lost to Boston last night and that game was on the road and so it today's....theyre going to be a little tired, thats for sure

Usually Murphy has big games against the Raps, I dont see anything stopping him from having another. I would love to see Hibbert get Bosh into foul trouble as he did to Howard

They aren't as weak at D as our team is when Murph, Jr and Hibbert are playing. Or even just Murph and Jr.

As far as Hibbert getting Bosh into foul trouble... it's wishful thinking unless they go to Hibbert in the low post alot. Who thinks that is going to happen with Murph out there? It's high post Roy all night except for the 5 minutes Murph doesn't play.

Hibbert will collect alot of fouls early and often from JJack, Calderon and everyone else rushing past our matador defenders straight to Roy. OLE!

Then we get to see what Jim really wants to do, that is play Murph at C, Danny at PF, Jr at SF, Rush at SG and have our PGs try to penetrate with everyone standing on the perimeter.

It's gonna be freakin' awesome!

One thing I am really looking forward to, besides having my jaded and pessimistic outlook on our coach proved to me once again, is seeing AJ tear up the Raps.

go Pacers!

I dont think you understand how bad the Raps defense it. They were on pace to be the worst defensive team in the history of the NBA http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Behind-the-Box-Score-where-the-Raptors-bit-it?urn=nba,206457

Ya, I agree we're a bad defensive team, but Raps take it to another level. Recently, their defense has gotten better, which was mainly because Jack was inserted in the starting line up to replace injured PG Calderon. But Calderon is back and they are now sharing PG mins.

I agree that Murphy and Jr has bad defense, but you have to see Calderon, Bellenili, and Bargnani try to play defense....

Overall, I think we're a better defensive team (this season as a whole) which doesnt say much.....

I was walking into the room partway through the sentence so maybe I heard this wrong, but it sounded like Stacey Paetz just said Danny was "playing through the pain," during her pre-game spot. Did I hear that right?

If so I hope she meant the normal pain of legs that need to get back into game shape. Otherwise that sounds like our early warning indicator that DG is still not right but is playing anyway, which I wouldn't like at all.

BRush is a pretty good weak side shot blocker for his position. He gets one of those about every other game and I've seen at least a half dozen this season where he had a clean block but Hibbert or Murph committed the foul at the same time so he didn't get credited for it.

The Pacers have the 3rd worst record in the league, and you take out the 5 game win streak
and they are close to the bottom. This team is not tanking, they are just bad and Wall is just part of the solution along with all the expiring contracts.

I think I have officially gotten to the stage of being disappointed if we win.

I can no longer take "were only x amount of games out of the last playoff spot"

The thought of having this roster and coaching staff next year makes me physically ill.

Typical JOB coaching. Puts in players that plays to the strength of the opponent. I'm amazed how accurate some of the early posts were about how JOB will coach this game. Benched D. Jones, McRoberts, and Ford. How much you want to bet that S. Jones starts and Rush is given only 5 minutes next game? Plus, what are the chances that JOB starts playing that horrid two PGs lineup with more regularity?

You can tell that he's missed lots of time, he had been unreal at the line before the ear problem.

We could be worse. We could have an All-Star Power Forward, two top 5 picks (including the #1 overall), a borderline All-Star point guard and serviceable backup, and a couple decent veterans and still be on the border of the playoffs in the woeful East.

so a) better players and b) a better record...that would suck :/

That last play was really infuriating, so I went back and found this line. I'm wondering if it's part of the playbook... that was TJ's exact play.

Didn't work for AJ either.

I would argue that Granger can matchup well to decently against 70% of 4s in the league. Certainly, some behemoths where it's definitely a bad deal. But, at minimum he's a difficult cover for most opposing 4s as much as he MIGHT be challenged defensively himself.

Three Trophies of the Game

Bronze: Mike Dunleavy
He was struggling scoring wise in the first half, but helped pull us to the win in the second half and mostly in the fourth quarter. His last 2 free throws secured us the win. He finished with 15 points total.

Silver: Danny Granger
Great to see him coming back to his regular, star self. He finished with 23 points. He had some nice defensive stops.

Gold: Troy Murphy
He played hard the whole game. Scoring, rebounding, and even some defensive stops. He had his usual double-double, but it was a high scoring and rebounding one. 20 points and 16 rebounds. He was 7-12 from the field and 5-8 from 3.
