I really think that a lineup of

Ford
Head
Dunleavy
Solomon
Hibbert

Would give us the best chance to win. Having Dunleavy match up with Love is just not smart.

AND about time! I begin to think he was growing it out like the boy does who donates his hair to be made into wigs. Great cause btw.

Classic example of a coach setting a player up to fail - I really like Luther Head as an offensive bump from the bench, even as a pseudo PG with no other PG for stretches. But starting him at SG here with a massive size disadvantage had failure written all over it. So Head hits the bench with 2 fouls and is off to a "bad start" even though there wasn't much he could do.

The Rush start tonight was the obvious choice, but JOB forced the issue.

I like seeing Josh go at Kevin Love, that's a great litmus test for him.

Very smart defensive rotation by McRoberts just now.

Josh rebound and leads the break. What other big on the roster can do that?

There is one thing that Dun has always been and that is streaky. So this is probably a good sign

Rush just showed a minute or so why I like him. Trying to feed Roy he used his dribble to reset his floor position and create a safer passing angle. Subtle basics but tons of guys just force the pass rather than stepping back out or in to improve space.

McBob with a couple rebounds a 3pter early. I hope he doesn't get fond of shooting 3 pters.

Team is playing well. Mcbob is making a difference so far. Hitting a three in his second straight game. Hope he can keep it up. I like his new hair cut. Dun also looks good hitting that three.

Maybe, but I haven't thought he looked gassed in the bad games, he looked distracted or disinterested. Look at his first play this game, the entry pass to him cutting the lane where he wasn't even looking and almost lost the pass completely, it caught him totally off guard. That's not "Dun like", and it's not just being tired 30 seconds into a game.

Quinn even mentioned after the first make by Dun that he hadn't been missing short recently, but long. Very odd. I sure hope tonight is a sign of whatever is up going away because I was counting on him to pick up the Granger slack.

PS - on Josh a few minutes ago, hilarious to see Kevin Love totally read the alley-oop to Josh for the steal. Kevin Love is a great player, so smart. Shows that Josh was making a good play the last 2 games against not so swift defenders.

Oh, and he outlets to near mid court from baseline, Flynn takes the quick jumper at the FT line and LOVE flies in to almost get the O REB, but steps on the baseline. The dude is bad. That's why I had the man crush on his game. Hard to believe people doubted him.

Price shots a shot and hits as soon as he gets in the game. Nice save by him too. I want to see Price play PG and not SG.

Meh, I'm not. Had he had a choice, we wouldn't see this lineup, injuries just didn't give him many options.

Now, if he continues to go with the winning lineup once everyone returns, then I'll give him some props.

I still think Brandon Rush could become a great player. He just needs a coach who can get through to him, I don't think he respects O'Brien very much. I mean, I have nothing to back that up, but he misused Rush greatly in his rookie year, it would have been frustrating.

If I'm the coach in the position we are in now with injuries, I tell Rush to score at least 20 points, I don't care how many shots he takes to do it, just that he does it. If he doesn't do it. I tell him that if he doesn't, he won't play for the next 3 games.

I think that would force him to be agressive and over the course of a few games might even help his confidence grow. Obviously not a great strategy for winning games, but in the long run, a confident Brandon Rush is much more valuable than 2-3 wins we probably wouldn't have gotten anyway.

BlueNGold
01-02-2010, 07:56 PM
AJ Price is the best PG on this team. This is only a bad thing if the coach insists on starting and playing the more expensive vets big minutes. If Murphy comes back and is put right back in the starting line-up...and we proceed to go on another losing streak....I might not check back until the draft.

I agree it would be great if JOB told Rush to go out and score 20 points a game. But there is only going to be so many shot for him to take. He just has to knock down those open threes. He does need to be more aggresive, and when is three isn't falling take it to the rim. If it takes coach to motivate him to take shots then go to it. But he it has to come from him at some point to be aggresive and motivate himself. Maybe in time we will see it.

What were the comments O'Brien supposedly made after the last game re: TJ and the point guard situation? Denari made a passing reference earlier. Did anyone hear any elaboration on that, or other comments on the seeming demotion?

I'd take Love over either Murphy or Tyler while walking away smiling with a step in my stride while never looking back. One game against Orlando doesn't mean a whole lot. I'm more interested in how he does over 82 games not 1 game here or there.
