I was eating at Chipotle this morning in Westfield where I live and when I got up to leave I noticed Jeff Foster sitting right behind me enjoying a burrito bowl with his family. He was even sporting a Pacers shirt. I wanted to say hello, but didn't want to bother him and his family. Neat surprise!

Cool story. I'm sure he wouldn't have been too bothered if you had said Hi. He bleeds blue and gold and i'm sure he would have been just fine to say hi to a fan.

Very cool story -- thanks for sharing! Jeff lives in Noblesville and I hear is spotted out frequently at various restaurants in Noblesville, Westfield, Northside, etc.

My wife saw Foster last Spring at the Cheesecake Factory at the Fashion Mall as she was waiting for her table and Jeff was walking out. She was going to say hello and was about to and opted to smile instead and Jeff seemed to appreciate that and smiled back and nodded.

I see players out and about on occasion at non-Pacer sponsored events and may say hello depending upon the situation. If they're eating, out with family, kids, etc. I usually let them go about their business as they're regular people too. As long as you're nice and respectful in approaching them in the right situation, 99% of them are nice guys.

Just seemed like Chipotle is kinda heavy to be eating at 10AM. Of course I have grabbed Sonic that early too, so eh who knows.

I have some video of Jeff and Mike D. Jr. hammered drun.......uh having a good time at the Poison/Def Leppard concert this past summer at Verizon. Was shooting the crowd with my phone and as I shot towards their row (they were about 2 or 3 rows behind me and one section over) they noticed and started goofing off/acting a fool/trying to dance. Jeff goes to a lot of concerts out there with his wife.

As a side I thought about posting it on youtube, but decided against it as it just seemed like a creepy invasion of privacy type thing, even though it wasn't intended that way.

I saw Austin C the other night at the Rathskeller. Was the same way, I wanted to say something but didn't bother him. He didn't look that big until I got close to him. Then I thought, "Yeah, he is tall"..
As a side note, they have many great beers there!

Does anyone know why we haven't been seeing Jeff on the bench lately? Back problems, I know. But still, if he can go out for fast food, why isn't he on the bench in a suit? Haven't seen any updates.

I understand where you're getting at but the guy is entitled to live his life. It looked like te bench was pretty full tonight anyway.

This is offtopic, but seeing as how it is Foster related....

Why do writers INSIST on calling Jeff Foster .... "Greg" ?? LOL
In the past 2 years, I know I have seen this in at least 3 or 4 different stories.. lol ..

Latest case in point ....

With All-Star swingman Danny Granger still out indefinitely, and with forwards Tyler Hansbrough and Troy Murphy and center Greg Foster out, Indiana remained balanced early, with Hibbert scoring 16 of his points in the first three quarters, Luther Head scoring 15 points in that span and Brandon Rush scoring all 16 of his points off the bench in the first three quarters.

You would THINK , with these writers being paid to write for these different web sites such as espn and etc.. But especially NBA.com of all places, that they would have their sh:censored:t straight..

Wasn't there an (in)famous 'men's room Jeff Foster sitighting' thread? a while back?

Also another resulting in a big argument about a basketball goal in his driveway?

Actually, I'm not sure you did. Sure, the guy is entitled to live his life. All players are. Not an issue. But my point is that he is usually on the bench in a suit when he is inactive. Been that way as long as I can remember. So to not see him on the bench as an inactive is a little strange to me, especially since he had been listed as day to day earlier in the week. His back must not be limiting him from doing day to day activities like going out for fast food (since he has been sighted as doing so). I can understand not traveling with the team with a back injury, but things just don't seem consistent here, and was hoping that maybe someone had seen him at the T-wolves game.

It would be nice if there was some photographic evidence to corroborate any of these stories...

Pretty sure the mens room story involved Scot Pollard, not Jeff.

That's fine and dandy, but I would consider what he has going on as medical leave. Sure Danny, Travis and Troy have been on the bench, and leading up until this recent injury Jeff has been on the bench.

Since Jeff has been going back and forth to Boston maybe that is his excuse. I can't explain but it sure doesn't mean he can't go out for fast food.

Just seemed like Chipotle is kinda heavy to be eating at 10AM. Of course I have grabbed Sonic that early too, so eh who knows.

I saw Jeff a couple years back when I worked at the Keystone Fashion Mall. He was by himself and walked by my store so I said hello and I think, if I remember right, congratulated him on a win they'd just had. He greeted me in return and seemed pretty cool about it.

The summer after the Colts' championship, I had John Teerlinck--the Colts' D Line coach--in as a customer where I worked and he seemed a little surprised I recognized him, he seemed to appreciate that I knew who he was and we talked a little bit.

I never know whether or not to say anything to a celebrity/sports figure I see out in public, but I figure that as long as you're not interrupting anything, and you're polite and casual about it, there's no reason not to say hello.

As for eating at Chipotle at 10am, I'd say, it's never too early for Chipotle but you'd better have some Tums handy!

I wish it involved Brad Miller though.
