there was a reason for keeping the MLE, and that is to use it! if the pacers are lookiong for a center that will sign for MLE or less and still be starter quality then my advice is to look at greg ostertag.

check his stats before telling me he is too doofy, or a slug. the fact is he produces and he has a high EFF rating. he is a good rebounder, shotblocker, and post defender. IMO would be a very nice pick up.

The reason for not using the MLE was that Jackson didnt want it.

well thats my fault for not being that informed.....however my point remains the same. tag is a very good option.

I dont see Ostertag bringing anything different than David Harrison.

Do we even have enough roster spots to bring in another big man? We lost PB but gained Harrison.

I dont think Harrison will contribute much as a rookie, I've never really seen ostertag play that much, so I won't comment now. Although the man is goofy looking.

Experience, maybe?

Chris Mihm is also a possibilty.

Mihm is restricted and Boston would match.

Mihm is one of the few current Celtics that Ainge loves. He wouldnt let him go.

a more realistic option is a journeyman like a Mikki Moore or a Vladimir Stepania, someone who knows how to play a little and can step in should there be LOTS of injuries.

Of course, Pollard could probably do THAT.

I think the roster is pretty much set except for backup PG.

yeh, if the roster wasn't already as filled as it is- i would look at ostertag.

NO Ostertag he is SOOOOOOO SLOWWW!! I have a lot of friends who are Jazz fans and they don't want him even. Pollard is better and we don't use him. (That isn't saying much)

If we could get Ostertag for the vet minimum, for one year, I would sign him.

if the harrington trade proves anything, it's that pacers will not use the mle.

i don't think ostertag will be very useful for us, i expect he'd have the same role as pollard here.

Did I see Darth Vlader's name mentioned?

Cleveland should sign him so he can play with his son Luke. :D

I've got a soft spot when it comes to Ostertag (mostly cause I grew up next to his wife's family), and I see things he can give us that Pollard can't. But you don't bring him in when you'd have Scot making that much money sitting. He doesn't give you that much more.

If I could trade Scot for him, however, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Greg would fit into Carlisle's system soooo much better.

IF we cant get Damp with the MLE which is highly unlikely. There is no sense in spending our MLE. I just dont see any one else out there that could help right now. In that case i hope that Harrison proves people wrong.
