So you decided the forum party should be right after the Pacers win the championship. I guess that is as good a time as any

I second the request for pizza king again. That is a great location/place to have it. Easy to get to, welcoming...

Hell, it almost got yours truly to put his shyness in the drawer for the evening and show up last time! :o

JOSE -

Do you happen to know the deadline by which a team must exercise it's option for those in rookie contracts?

As you probably know, Tinsley and Brezec are completing their third years in their rookie contracts. That means that the Pacers must exercise their "team option" by a specific date (whatever it is), or each player becomes a restricted free agent.

I'm certain that at least in Tinsley's case, the Pacers intend on exercising their option.

If the deadline for Tinsley is before June 22, then obviously the Pacers must put him on their 8-man protected list so that the Bobcats don't take him in the dispersal draft.

However, if the deadline is after the dispersal draft, I'm wondering if there might be a loophole, since Tinsley is really not under contract until the option is exercised. I'm thinking that might mean that the Bobcats would not be able to select him, so we would not have to protect him.
