This is the trade that will happen... at least I hope so...

Indiana trades: PG Kenny Anderson (6.0 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.8 apg in 20.6 minutes)
PF Al Harrington (13.3 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.7 apg in 30.9 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (18.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.7 apg in 37.2 minutes)
C Scot Pollard (1.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 11.1 minutes)
Indiana receives: C Kendrick Perkins (2.2 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.3 apg in 3.5 minutes)
C Mark Blount (10.3 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 0.9 apg in 29.3 minutes)
SG Paul Pierce (22.9 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 5.1 apg in 38.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -3.9 ppg, -1.1 rpg, and -2.1 apg.

which leaves boston with

Anderson/Atkins/Banks
Davis/Welsch/
Artest/Jumaine Jones/Barros
Harrington/McCarty
LaFrents/Mihm/Pollard

and us with

Tinsley/(AJ Maybe)/Wright
Pierce/Miller/F. Jones
Bender/J. Jones
O'neal/Foster/Croshere
Blount/Harrison/Perkins

IMO, this works well for both teams, and Boston may even get the better of the deal in the long run. Kendrick Perkins is a future all-star, also. Give him about 4 more years and you'll see.

Luke jackson scored 19 today, and the no. 1 pick went 1-13.

edit - crap... I also wanted to mention that we should sign Bowen or Jackson or somebody to help out our SF problem after that trade.

Ummm.... Kenny is a free agent.

RealGM is worthless during the summer.

I'll pass. Horrible trade for the Pacers.

We're better off just signing Stephen Jackson and then adding a better point guard backup [Fisher] and then maybe getting a big veteran to play 4-5.

Yeah I noticed that about a half hour later, a sign and trade would be possible, right?

Yeah, I thought the playoffs proved it conclusively. Ron > Pierce.

Ron had a better series. I'll give you that. But that doesn't mean for a second Pierce wouldn't be great for us.

Sure he would. But I wouldn't give up Ron for him.

Normally I wouldn't either. However the only reason he's gonna get traded, if he does, is because managament is sick of dealing with him. If he IS traded, Pierce is a very nice consolation prize.

Yeah we should offer Croshere/Pollard or Harrington/Bender and expect to get an all star, right?

To get something good, you have to give up something good.

We've already got the best PF and the best SF in the conference. How many all-stars do you want? We need a solid contibuter from the SG spot. Reggie no longer counts.

If we had started S.Jackson, M.Ginobli, or Q.Richardson at SG against the Pistons, there would have been a championship parade in Indy. (Well, if Jermaine and Tinsley had kept getting worse, we'd have been hurting against the Lakers. But we'd have gotten past the Pistons.)
