View Full Version : Murphy For Hinrich

It's a pretty simple question: Would you trade Troy Murphy for Kirk Hinrich?

We talk all the time about trading Murphy for expiring contracts, but would we be willing to take on a longer contract to move him if it's for the right player?

For the record, I think Murphy would be a good fit in Chicago.

Murphy's Contract: $11,000,000/$11,900,000
Hinrich's Contract: $9,500,000/$9,000,000/$8,000,000

ummm...where'd our answers go?

Edit: found it:

So, are we letting Jack walk? Where is Hinrich going to play? I'm not sure he's a full-time point. Jack probably isn't ideal, but he'll come at half the price.

I'm willing to trade Murphy for a longer contract, if it's the right player. I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'm just very far from convinced that Hinrich is the right player.

Him for Ford.

Him for Ford.

In a heartbeat, but why would Chicago want Ford?

Maybe in a 3 way with another team involved that would send Chicago a PF and we send them Ford and Chicago sends us Hinrich.

So we trade Murphy for Hinrich to add to our already crowded point guard rotation of Ford, Jack, Diener and even Tinsley on our roster?

Hinrich is a good player, but I don't think he's an option for us at all. I think there are other teams out there like Minnesota, Dallas, Philly potentially, etc. who need a starting point a lot greater than we do.

Pacers pass.
