It's a pretty simple question: Would you trade Troy Murphy for Kirk Hinrich?

We talk all the time about trading Murphy for expiring contracts, but would we be willing to take on a longer contract to move him if it's for the right player?

For the record, I think Murphy would be a good fit in Chicago.

No not as the Pacers are structured right now and not if they are signing Jack. I do think that Henrich is way underated at the moment and I think he absolutey fits what Obie is trying to do. I also think Murphy would be nice in Chicago.

Who would the Pacers have in the front court though. Jeff and Roy.

If the Pacers had hit the Lotto and Blake Griffen was heading to Indy then yes.

Lastly, I think Murphy is probably the better player right now, too.

If the contract for Henrich is longer, I don't see why'd they would do that. I do believe it's a decreasing deal though, which is attractive, but now way for more years.

I'd pass. Murphy's the more productive player and fills a much bigger need for us. Unless we had other deals lined up, it'd be a definitive no from me.

So, are we letting Jack walk? Where is Hinrich going to play? I'm not sure he's a full-time point. Jack probably isn't ideal, but he'll come at half the price.

I'm willing to trade Murphy for a longer contract, if it's the right player. I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'm just very far from convinced that Hinrich is the right player.
