I have a question: can trade be made between now and July 15, if the trade does not involve any free agents?

I thought trades could happen at any time, I mean the T-Mac to Houston one didn't happen until just two days ago, so I don't see why they have to stop now. With the exception being FAs can't be involved yet.

I'm pretty sure the answer is "no."

The fiscal year end is June 30; they need to set the salary cap for 2004-05 so they can evaluate whether the trades meet the criteria for the upcoming season.

They won't know the actual numbers until closer to 7/15.

The article posted in the Mike Kahn says trades should start happening on or after the 14th. Sounds right I guess.

When the Tmac trade went down, it was said they had had to get it done by 6/30, before the two-week moratorium on trades, due to figuring out the salary cap. Therefore, we might here something's gonna happen, but it won't be official until 7/15.

Just read on Indystar.com, that trades cannot take place until July 14th
