We trade our pick (not in top 3) and Tinsley
Minnesota's late round pick (from Boston) get Brian Cardinal & Craig Smith.

OMG. I was looking at a version on a deal like this for TJ Ford. I had
2009 Second Rounder (from Dallas)
2009 First Rounder (28th)

I think we give up too much in your deal since our pick will be top ten. That pick is worth more than every other piece in the deal added together. Cardinal and Smith aren't more than practice players really. Smith will get burn, but Cardinal is only good as an expiring.
I think TJ Ford would be easier to ship out and it would force us to match anything Jack is offered. I think teams would be less likely to make him an offer knowing we will for sure match.
That or we could do straight up Tinsley for Cardinals expiring. This would free up a little more cash for us this year and a lot next year. We add a good locker room guy and a good practice player. Perfect for spots 13-15 on game days instead of McRoberts :happydanc:happydanc:happydanc:happydanc.

It does stink we have to give up a good draft pick but we are able to get rid of Tinsley and not have to buy him out.

I hate the idea of trading the 1st Rd draft pick, but if it gets us shipping tinman out an expiring contract and potential that may be worth it.

Pacergod keep in mind the second round pick is a very late one from Dallas. I do not see them parting with their pick unless Mc Hale really likes TJ Ford and wants him to replace Sebastin Telfair.
I would not mind having a later first round pick in this years draft maybe Maynor drops. Maybe we get Valquez from Maryland.

I love Maynor. I think he will be a terrific pro. I also like AJ Price out of UCONN. Both PG's could be excellent pro's and for a late first or second round pick. Minny has three first and two seconds this year. The seconds project to be 46 and 48 per Draft Express. I could see a scenario where they would look to give us the higher of those two seconds instead of the first for second swap. That would leave us with two mid-second round picks and our top ten. That will help fill out our roster for relatively cheap or try trading the two seconds for a late first to someone else. Just a thought.
There are a lot of guys in the middle of the second that could be excellent NBA players. I look at seniors like AJ Price, Jeff Pendergraph, Josh Heytvelt, Tyreke Rice, Marcus Thronton, and Jerel McNeal to come in and be productive bench/role players for us. Thats the type of draft picks I would like from us this year with our second rounder. If we go international I will pull my all my hair out right before I jump off the Golden Gate bridge.
